Ive heard terrible things on the Dis about TCD, I was just wondering have they got any better? :confused3 If you have flown with them in the last year how would you rate them?

Any answer greatly appreciated!!

Hi Jen
We have flow with TCD on 4 occassions and yes we have had the odd delay but no worse than any other conmpany we have been with. We find that nobody else can touch them for price. :thumbsup2

Ive had a quote and its only about £250 cheaper than Virgin but TCD only want an £22 deposit whereas Virgin want £240! I don't know what to do!! :confused3

we have booked with them for this september...basically the price and low deposit was very attractive

just book it jen;) you know you want too

I like the sound of that deposit! :thumbsup2 I'm going to give TCD a go when I book for next year's trip with DD as the prices are amazing. I've heard the negative stuff too but plenty of people are positive about them so I'm going to try them and see - then I can make up my own mind. Plus Virgin seem to be getting some negative feedback at the moment so I guess no one's ideal... :)

We`ve only flown with them once, it was a great experience! Usually we fly into MCO with who ever is cheapest, Delta or USAirways.
Flights were on time, the crew were very very nice and the leg room was fine.
This Nov we`ll try Virgin if I can get DH to commit that is, but this is only because prices are good, we can get into MCO and then use the DME.

Jen, I'm just going to pop this over to the UK Trip Planning Boards

I hope you get lots of advice over there

Mandy :thumbsup2

we have booked them for our wedding trip next year,

have flown 5 times with them and only had a couple of problems nothing too major,

we flew with them last year and it ws fine. We missed the seat back tvs though.

We flew with tcd last feb after using virgin for the first four trips. We found tcd far better than virgin.more legroom, polite and attentive cabin crew, modern clean aircraft even the food was better we have booked again with them and go in 3 weeks.

We use Virgin because of 3 main reasons
We much prefer Orlando Int over Sanford.
Go for Odd numbers of nights usually like August 25 nights.
Have alot of Virgin Flyer points.

If we didn't mind Sanford, stuck to 14 night holidays and didn't have the FF points then would have no hessitation using TCD they gave us just as good if not better service than Virgin, got bulkhead seats with them on a last minute deal and they were great, never had so much leg room, just could not see the screen but I slept most of way so that did not bother me.

I've flown with them the last two years and if the price is right I will book again for 2008

:yay:

Oh well that's the end of that then! I could cope without a seat back TV but I know that I would have to listen to dh grumbling for 9 hours that he couldn't see the TV properly at which point I would be forced to throttle him!! :rolleyes1

I would prefer a seat back tv and do look around and compare price's before I commit to an agent but nothing has ever come close when I book and the difference is too large to justify for a tv

Jen,
We booked with TCD for the first time last summer - but we were delayed for 24 hours. As everyone else said, we also had no seatback TV's and the overhead TV system was useless. Unless I got a very cheap deal.. and I mean very cheap.. we wouldn't use them again.
I have never slept on a plane, so the in flight entertainment is very important to me. 9 hours of a crackling/jumping tiny TV screen is no fun! Especially when some ignorant people stand up in front of the screen for most of the flight.
The best thing to do is set your criteria..
Direct flight
Flying into MCO/Sandford
Seat back TV's
On line check in.. or whatever is important to you.. then check which carriers/airlines give the service you want.. and just keep your eyes open for the best deals.
Its worth checking websites at different times of the day/ different days of the week.
Try different sites.. ie. we got Virgin flights £200 (each) cheaper from Opodo rather than direct from Virgin. Its worth shopping around.. and not 'jumping in' too soon.
Good luck
Tracy

Been trying to price up but on the site it will only allow 14 nights, we are hoping for 21 nights, is it possible with them?

TCD?

When we went in 2005 Gavin's dad booked us all for 14 nights but we then tried to amend to 21 and couldnt. The reason given was that all TCD Manchester to Sandford flights were based on a two week turnaround, meaning you could onl fly wit them on a 14 day return basis, not 1 week or 3. This was over two years ago so ring and ask if it's stil the same.

:yay:
