Hello all-

The TCD gang checked into the Fort yesterday.

I have already posted some of my photos on other threads, but I wanted to start this one.

Because, I have never seen so much activity at the pool as I have this morning.

It looks like they are putting the new surface on the pool itself today.

And, in case you didn't catch it on the sticky thread, they have changed the water tower logo. . . .

I CAN'T BELIEVE MUSKET MICKEY IS BACK! I was really wondering if they would catch the flub they made using the unofficial FWRR logo, and what they might do if they did! Well there it is!

They are finally waterproofing the pool! I sure hope it's the quick-curing type for the sakes of the short-timers around here. Eagerly awaiting more!

I was excited, I googled "most dependable fountains" to see if it was part of the splash zone, no such luck, they make drinking fountains. LOL

The pics with the grey pipes sticking up, that looks like it will be some sort of wall, and those are just tie ins to it, they have rebar laid in the trench. Didn't you see stakes here that said something about wall?

I am amazed!!!!

It looks to me like they want the pool to be open for Easter.

With the weather warmer, it is amazing how many folks I see going over to Wilderness Lodge to swim in that pool. The guests over there cannot be happy about the situation.

It looks like they have finally shifted the pool project into high gear.

I will check back today to see how they are doing with the pool surface.

And, for anybody following along, I have another bit of news to report. I have to ride out front to get a photo, but there I have something disappointing to report.

TCD - awesome pics. I couldn't believe it myself when I biked past the pool this morning. My kids and I are proudly wearing our "Long Live Musket Mickey" t-shirts this week that I made from Rog's design..and our dreams have come true!

Also, what loop are you in? I am done working after today and will be just hanging around the Fort. Hope to get out looping tomorrow on the bikes and will be looking for DISers.

Rog - the counter service will be up and running when I get to the fort and am assigned that new site in 600 with the grill on the walkway. I'll be selling hot dogs and burgers right off the grill, and with the shelf flipped over, it will make a nice little condiment table. Please stop by when you're there, LOL.

Some type of VIP event is going on at the Fort today.

This sign was posted by the road in front of the Meadow Trading Post:

And black limos have been shuttling people back and forth to the Ft. Wilderness Pavilion all day:

There is a large group having a party in the pavilion right now:

I asked a cast member what was going on.

She said that this was a private party for State and Federal Legislators put on by WDW's lobbyists!!

I am pretty sure that I saw Florida Governor Charlie Crist and his new wife in the crowd!!!
