Thanks for the funny April Fools prank! You got me on the Musket Mickey... I totally bought that one. The "Alcoholic Beverages Sign" was a bit harder to buy into!! Sooo funny. Thanks again for the laugh AND the pool pictures.

Hey all-

Well, I am back from the Fort.

I thought I would revisit this thread, as I was working off of one of the Fort's cable modems while there, and in between all of the fun activities we had going on, I was not able to really study the amazing photos that Shan-man created.

So, I wanted to be sure too formally apologize for the prank.

And to formally thank Shan-man for his assistance.

A funny story, if you will look at my first post, you will see that it was edited, and if you look at DaveinTN's first post, you will also see that it was edited. The reason for this is that I accidentally posted a photo of the water tower with the FWRR logo on it in my first batch of photos. Dave then asked what the heck was going on. So, I PM'd him, and he changed his post too. Thanks, Dave.

Another funny story, I got an e-mail from Shan-man in the early afternoon telling me that the jig was up. I went ahead and posted the no alcohol sign anyway. Then Shan pointed out that he had accidentally misspelled alcoholic, see?:

Nobody caught that (including me)!

The photos of the limos are real. The description I gave is not. This was really a giant castmember party for all of the folks who work at FW and WL. I had never heard of anything like this before. Looks like they had a great time! It was weird to see Limos driving back and forth through the Fort all day.

This was so much fun, I'll have to start planning now for next year.

That would be a good way to keep this thread alive...come up with ideas for next year's April Fools jokes. How about:

"Disney announces free dining for campsite reservations"
or
"I had an awesome breakfast at Trails End!!"
or
"Fort Wilderness management realizes mistake....turns entire Meadows Pool into giant hottub"

Who's got some ideas??

I was thinking about updating the Trail's End menu -- converting it to all vegan choices... that's what camper's want, right! LOL

Unfortunately I was a little too busy with real life to get to it. Oh well. I actually was starting to feel a little guilty over the musket mickey on the water tower... folks were so stoked! Sorry Rog, well, kinda! LOL
