Here are the films TCD (European Aviation) will be showing on flights from Gatwick to Sanford until 30.11.03:

Outbound - Finding Nemo
- Anger Management
- Top 10 Places to Spend a Fortune (documentary)
Inbound - X2
- How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
- The Recruit
- Cartoon Mix

thanx joan,
do you have any idea if the same schedule applies to manchester-sanford route as well ??
we're flying sunshine first(worth the extra imho) and are hoping to possibly get a wider range of films.

Rick - Oh Yes, Sunshine First is definitely worth the extra!! :)

I'm not sure how many films we had, seem to recall it was a choice of around 6 full length films and then some documentary and cartoon channels.

However, I was disappointed that we got the same choice on the way home again :( So make sure you don't watch them all on the way out!!

This was the selection for Sunshine First, but have no idea if it applies to the Manchester route too.

Can anyone confirm please which are the best rows for those travelling in cattle class to view the movies?

I don't want the screen over my head, three or four rows back will do.

Thanks

One day to go!

Astrid, we've booked Sunshine First for next year - could you describe what the service is like so that I know what to expect?

Check in at Gatwick was quick and efficient at SF desk. Plane was 1 hr late because ill passenger (+ luggage) had to be taken off at Orlando. SF cabin is at front of plane with (1 think) 22 seats in 2's. Masses of leg room and very comfortable for reading/sleeping when reclined fully. Bottles of water were waiting and we were offered champagne or orange juice and a Daily Mail or Express paper. We were given pouches containing socks, eyeshade, inflatable neck pillow, earplugs, toothbrush, shaving cream and razor, moisturising lotion, lip balm and mints (kids also given these). Once we were in the air, we were given a choice of drinks and some Mini Cheddars. Dinner consisted of a salad starter, choice of chicken and pasta or beef and veg, pudding, cheese and biscuits, tea or coffee and a chocolate. Kids meal was chicken nuggets and chips. Stewardesses came round with hot cloths for our hands. Later we had a choice of chicken or mozzarella with provencale veg in ciabatta - very nice. TV screens pull out from between seats. There was a long intro about Universal, Busch Gardens, Seaworld, etc, and a couple of interesting documentaries about manatees and rhinos before the films started. On arrival at Sanford we disembarked very quickly. The return flight was on time and we used the Guest House at Sanford. Meals consisted of dinner and continental breakfast (fruit salad, danish pastry, croissant with butter and jam, tea or coffee). After landing at Gatwick we had to wait for buses to take us from the plane to the terminal.

We normally fly Virgin PE. The cabins look older than Virgins and a bit tired, but legroom is much better, also food is better. The staff were very pleasant and helpful (my husband is diabetic and they told us to ask for anything we needed). The inflight selection of films is not nearly as varied as Virgin (my son was not impressed!), and we missed the map so that you can keep track of the journey. We booked flights only.

Thanks Joan - sounds good. Glad to hear the seats are comfortable for reclining and sleeping.

Can I ask what the Guest House at Sanford is? I've not used Sanford for several years, so I'm not sure what the Guest House is.

The Guest House at Sanford is a lounge for use before the flight home. You can prebook with TCD for £10 per adult/£8 per child. This price includes 2 glassses of beer/wine per adult, coffee, soft drinks and snacks (cookies, savoury mix). The bartender will get sandwiches for you or you can buy them and bring them in. There is a home theatre with widescreen TV and DVD movies, a quiet room with magazines, area with email and internet access, children's playroom (for small children), restrooms, room with Sony Playstation consoles and baggage storage. When you check in to the Guest House, the receptionist will give you a wrist tag so that you can come and go as you wish.

Ditto to everything Joan said!! We used the Guest House too and it was well worth it, a little oasis of calm and the kids loved playing on the computer games and play stations!

I have flown Virgin PE as well as Sunshine First and I would be hard pushed to give a preference, SF has the better seats and leg room though I preferred Virgin's in-flight entertainment. The only trouble is it's going to be tough going back to economy one of the days!! :)

Does anyone know the TCD films that are showing now or in Feb please?

Thanks

I E-Mailed TCD and got this reply

Dear Mr. RFW1,
Thank you for the e-mail. Sorry, we are unable to provide the details of what films/programme's will be showing on your flight. We are unable to specify due to the airlines ever changing in-flight entertainment schedule. These can change from month to month/flight to flight.
Have great holiday.
Kind Regards

So it looks like its subject to chage at the last minute.

That's a shame they can't tell us, I guess I'll just have to find out on Saturday. I'll post the films and entertainment when I get back just in case anyone needs the info who is going soon.

Can anyone who's traveled Sunshine First into Sanford give me some idea of how long it takes from getting off the plane , to picking up the car?
