We are going to WDW next october flying with Thomas Cook, and are debating whether or not it is worth paying the extra and upgrading. There's me, dh, dd 14 ds 9. We are thinking that for what it will cost, we can have a little break away somewhere else, but on the other hand we can afford it so why not? It will be our 4th visit and we decided to splurge a bit and have a 1 bedroom villa at OKW instead of CBR, CSR or AKL where we have stayed before, just so that we have a bit more room (and privacy!!!).

It is also my 40th a couple of weeks before we go, so it is also a birthday trip.

I'm rambling now, but I would like to know what others think of upgrading on a TC flight and if it is worth it!

I can't speak for Thomas Cook but honestly, if I could afford the upgrade I would do it. If you have only ever flown economy before then it's not a big deal. I did economy this year after some years of PE with VA and it was a horrible flight, especially the outbound. Not because VA did anything wrong, but it was quite an adjustment and you do get spoilt with the extra space. I think a lot of it has to do with what previous experiences you have under your belt to compare with.

Do you have some ideas of what you would like to do with the extra money if you don't upgrade? Perhaps weighing up something specific with the higher class cabin could put things into perspective for you.

Have just spoke to Thomas Cook and as from next april there will be no more Premium Cabin (or whatever it's called!), so that's decision made for us!
