Are taxis readily available in front of every resort, as an option to get to another resort for dining reservations? Are they there 24 hours? I know on the travel wizard it gives taxi time from one to another - just curious if they are always there as getting from some resorts to another seems difficult and very long trips.

Example - the LP wizard shows getting from GF to Beach Club would be a monorail ride to MK, then a bus to BC about 40 minutes total. But it offers the suggestion of a 13 minute taxi ride.

Thanks!

Yes, taxis are available. If there aren't any staged outside your resort, the desk or bell services can summon one and they usually arrive with 5 minutes. If you don't have your own vehicle, cabs are the best way to get from resort to resort in the evenings.

Yes! We usually grab a taxi if we have an early-morning ADR at another resort. :)

When we were at AKL last December they were in a little queue in front of the hotel. I know this because we had a standard view room that looked out over the taxis! :rotfl2:

We left the Poly in January after having drinks at the bar and there were plenty of taxis sitting right out front. They seem to be readily available most places I've seen, although I don't recall seeing them outside of the Boardwalk when we stayed there.

I agree with the others taxi are readily available everywhere. They are definitely staged at the Deluxe hotels, but can be readily summoned from any hotel. It is a great way to go from resort to resort. They are also outside of the theme parks with the exception of the MK. There you will have to Monorail over to the TTC to catch a taxi.
I budget taxi fare in the months prior to our trip so I have the money saved in advance. I figure that since we now use ME and save on a Town Car or Rental Car, it is still much cheaper to use a taxi or two over the course of the week.
Have a Great Trip

We always see taxis out front but if you need one early (we needed on at 7 am for our Segway tour) then you need to call the front desk the night before and they will make sure one is waiting for you

We took several taxis on our last trip, and the only place we had to wait for one was at Saratoga Springs. We then moved to Boardwalk Villas, and there were always some sitting right outside.

Thanks everyone for the information.

We are staying at a deluxe this year, it is our first trip. We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge.

I'm already looking at next year, and can't decide between two resorts. One looks like it has more convenience for getting around, but if the taxis are an option - perhaps that doesn't matter so much.

We are a family of 4 adults and will be using taxis this coming trip. Are the taxi vans in the que lines or will one need to be called??

I usually see one or two vans in the queue line too. But if one isn't there, I'm sure they can get one there in just a few minutes! :)

We stayed at one of the All-Stars in January, and sometimes a cab had to be called - though it didn't usually take more than a few minutes for one to arrive. Usually it was to go to an ADR at a Deluxe Resort - and when it was time to return, there were ALWAYS cabs lined up and waiting at those resorts to take us home.

And on previous occasions, when we went to Jellyrolls at Boardwalk (and didn't feel like taking the bus to Downtown Disney for a ride back to our resort), regardless of the time of night, there were always cabs waiting. :hippie:
