We are planning to fly to Disney in May. The car rental prices are outrageous. We plan to take the buses to the parks & DTD but has anyone taken taxi's to get to the different resorts for dinner? Were they easy to get & what were the prices?

Sure have used them. Usually an average is 15-20 bucks plus tip. Some less, and a couple were maybe just a bit more going from one side of WDW to another. Just head to the front desk of the resort you are at and they will get you a cab if they dont have one stationed there. You can also call to bell services and they can send it to your 'room' at a place like SSR that is so spread out, but then you have to hope the cab driver is good enough to find the right building. If possible, it works MUCH easier if you are at the bell services area to get a cab.

We do this all of the time because we have drinks with dinner and are not about to drive. The only time we had a lengthy wait (15 min) to get a cab was at the Boardwalk when there were a lot of convention people in a cab line. Otherwise, there is almost always a cab waiting that we can grab quickly.

We used a cab a few weeks ago because my son got ill at dinner and I did not want to have to take two buses back to the resort. From AKL (Jambo) to VWL it was approximately $19 + tip for 4 of us. I asked bell services to get me a cab but one pulled up just as I was talking to them so there was no wait.
