Taxis at Discovery Cove

Is there a taxi rank outside of Discovery Cove?

We are not hiring a car and will get a taxi easy enough on the morning down to DC from I Drive, but I dont want to book one to take us back as we wont know what time we wil leave, it will all depend on the August weather.

While we will have a rental vehicle, we are seriously considering taking a taxi from our resort to DC and back so that we can enjoy the alcoholic beverages. We are visiting during the same time frame so we have the same concerns!

I remember seeing taxis and shuttles in the parking lot when we visited on Christmas. I am also sure you can ask them to call you one when you are ready. I bet some do come by taxi, so as you say Gina, no issues with enjoying the adult beverages. You would not be surprised that at the close, we stood in line to get a last pretzel and ice cream treat, and all others were getting their last beer. Be warned, FLA has a no open container law, and the beers are opened when ordered, so you have to finish it before you step off the property. We saw many sad faces and some angry ones when beer was tossed in the can on the way out.

I don't even know if we will choose to indulge in an alcoholic drink or two, but I want DH especially to have the option if he wishes (particularly when we have a cabana where he can kick back and relax for a bit). We have always driven before so never bothered to even consider having a drink, and each time we thought.....next time we're going to make sure we can try something if we want . That's when we decided we might taxi it this trip.

I can't believe people actually tried to leave the park with alcohol in hand . That shocks me!!! Of course, so does the number of people texting while driving and the folks who ride motorcycles without a helmet .

We took a cab and the cab driver gave us his card to call him when we were ready. We just gave the card to the staff at the front and they called him for us. He was there in 15 mins.

greenclan...would you mind sharing the approximate charge each way?

I know it will be different for us (coming from a different resort, obviously) but it would be nice to know a guestimate of the price beforehand.

Hey Gina, if you do a search online for taxi fare prices Orlando u can put in your starting point & ending point. We paid $5.00 each way put had 8 people so we paid $10 per person return in a van.

There are usually 2 or 3 taxis waiting outside in the driveway right in front of the main building. Obviously this could change if several people left right before you and took them. But there are also almost always cabs waiting at SW, so you could either catch a ride over there or call and have one pick you up.
