Taxi's at Cocoa Beach

We are debating whether or not to rent a car while we are at Cocoa Beach. We will be there two nights prior to our cruise and one night after our cruise.

1. How easy is it to get a cab and what do they charge?

2. How dependable on the morning of departure, do not want to do the shuttle

3. We are staying at the Hampton Inn how close to grocery, liquir store, resturants? Walking distance?

hi, we stayed at the Hampton this past June before our cruise. I highly recommend taking a taxi.

1) The shuttle co. that you can arrange with (Art's) through Hampton, will not pick you up until 12.

2) We used M & H Taxi 1-321-784-4499.

3) I called them the day before to set up a time for 10:00. MAKE SURE YOU CALL THEM AGAIN IN THE MORNING!!!!! We didn't do this and had to call. They had forgotten!!!

4) It was around $15 for the 3 of us. This is a little more than the $3 shuttle, but it is better than the shuttle. There always seems to be a little problem with people waiting when the shuttle is full and whose turn it is. We did also tip a few dollars.

5) There are lots of places near to buy stuff-Ron Jons (too expensive and IMHO not worth the walk!!!!), there are two souvenir stores closer. Restaurants were Burger King (I think!), Dairy Queen, Subway, I hop. Nothing amazing very close, but if the weather is nice, you could definitely walk to something nicer. We went to the I-Hop for dinner and it was very good.

6) The free breakfast at the Hampton's was a very good continental buffet. They have juices, milk, fruit, bagels, toast, donuts, cereal.

7) The beach is just a quick walk past Marriott. We loved this. We bought a $3 board to use in the waves. The pool is nice but small. You can also use the pool at the Marriott. They also have out door showers to rinse off.
