are taxis outside the resorts all the time? How much to take a taxi from CR to Downtown Disney?

I do not know the cost to DTD, but each time we've used a taxi from the hotel we just called down to valet services and they called one for us. The taxi was there in just a few minutes. We went from WL to the YC and the cost was about $12.00, the cost from Epcot/ Future World to YC was $8.00.

There's usually a taxi or two hanging out at each resort. If there's not one there, Bell Services can get one to you, usually in just a few minutes.

embarressed to ask:o but do you tip bell services for calling you a taxi? i've never done this from a hotel.
thanks

Personally, I wouldn't. Actually, if you want, you can do it from your room as well. If you dial 0 for the operator, I'm pretty sure they'll connect you.

(407) 699-9999 is the number for Mears taxi operations. (Checker Cab)

So could I get a taxi at CBR to go to Seaworld and US/IOA? That would be cheaper than renting a car!

Mears (checker cabs) are on Disney There the yellow cabs that run around..

Does anyone know how much it costs by taxi to US/IOA? Doesn't matter what resort.. technically we COULD go from any resort- depends on what day it was and whether we had breakfast PS's where and all that. We are staying at the All Stars Sports... but we might not be leaving from there. We're undecided as of yet on whether or not to go to US/IOA... mostly because we'll be relying on WDW transportation this trip (cost of minivan is prohibitive during the time of our trip during the Thanksgiving holiday). But maybe if I had an idea of how much it would cost by taxi it would help make up our minds?
BTW- we have 5 in our family.... how do you deal with a child that would atleast need a booster seat (or maybe carseat depending on carseat laws in Florida?) when riding a taxi? I'm from a small town in Texas... we've never even been in a taxi before. HAHAHA That probably seems odd to some people eh? LOL I'm not sure how they deal with the carseat issue and also not sure if they charge more if you have more people or if 5 could even FIT in a taxi?

First the cabs DON'T have car seats. Some of the Van drivers do but not to many of the do. You wont get out of Disney for any less then $60.00 after tolls. The best way to do that is get a Town Car service with a car seat. And a Van would be your best way to go.
