i just have a few qustions hope someone can help out-- we wanna go to Hollywood one day while at DL.... to take a taxi there, we call Anaheim taxi to take us to Grauman's Chinese Theatre ? and when we wanna come home, what taxi service should we call to bring us back? THANKS so much! :earsboy:

First, there is a bus company in Anaheim that does tours. You might contact them and find out if where you want to go is on one of their tours. The address is www.AnaheimSightseeing.com.

Another option would be to hire a limo to take you. We used Tony the Limo King (lol) who was very reliable. Just be sure to get a written price from him in advance. He took us to Laguna Beach, but mentioned that he does other private tours, and will take you anyplace you want. His website, I believe, is Tonythelimoking.com. I got his name from the folks at the Anaheim tourism and convention center. If you book with him, be sure to tell him the Walshes said hello, lol! He charged us $100 roundtrip for the drive to Laguna Beach.

You might call your hotel in advance and ask what local transportation company they recommend. Hojos set me up with Jag for our trip back to the airport. It was a van service that charged a flat fee- the same as yellow cab. I'm not sure if they do tours or not, but you could call your hotel and ask.

My last choice would be to use a cab. Here's why...if you get caught in a traffic jam (we saw two very large crashes while we were there....) you'd be paying for that time. Plus, you would either have to pay the driver for the time all day, or call the company back when you're ready to leave.

Personally, I think I'd check with Tony and see what he'd charge you. It would be fun to be shuttled around in one of his limos...and the prices were pretty reasonable! Better than the taxis!

Ive never had any problem just hailing a cab right off the property or any where around hollywood. However Intsmom has a good point. With the time running and everything it may be cheaper just to get a sedan! Another option is to call the front desk and let them handle it for you. That's what my friends and I did when we went on a "grocery" run last time!

sorry to hijack this thread, but when getting a taxi for groceries, where would you recommend, I will be staying at Sheraton Anaheim when I arrive, and would like on the first day to go and get some snacks drinks etc

If need be, I can give you the name and cell number of the awesome driver that drove my friend and I places, he was awesome, and I would be happy to recommend him!

i looked up the limo king online and it looks like mostly site seeing....should i email them and ask if they do transportations to hollywood? also will it cost us to spend time there since we wanna stay for a few hours? thanks!

When we stayed in Anaheim in 2002, we used a company that I think were called Starline Tours. It was little bus and it departed from outside the Anaheim Visitors centre (was on Harbor Blvd then). It left Anaheim around 11am and returned at 6pm, gave us plenty of time to do the Star Tour, see the Chinese theatre and see the Kodak Theatre and look at the shops.
Last year we did a Downtown LA tour with Coach USA, this took us to Olvera Street and the Beverly Centre, then about 40 minutesin Hollywood before going on to Santa Monica. He also toured around the area pointing out different movies locations and also showing us where Arnold Schwarzenegger used to train at Venice Beach.
We use Coach USA for nearly all of our tours out there, but have used Starline as well and both have been very good.
Love Ella
