If we were to take a taxi somewhere with our 5 and 7 year old who at home, are in booster seats, can we just put them in a regular seat belt in a taxi? Or will the taxi driver not allow us to go. I feel really dumb asking this, but we live in a rural area and have never used Taxi's.

I don't know how it is other places, but in NYC you are certainly not required to bring a booster seat to take your kid in a taxi. Obviously a booster seat is best, but it's often not possible, and then you just use a seat belt.

The driving regulations in FLorida states:
Booster seats under 4 years old,
Seatbelts under 6 years old.
You don't have to use your booster seats.
Good luck,
Joe

P.S.
My wife's from Wisconsin,
The driving regulations in WI states:
Booster seats under 4 years old,
Seatbelts under 8 years old.

Taxi drivers certainly don't follow rules about car seats (in my experience). Truthfully, the police dont mess with cab drivers too much (even about seatbelts, speed limits, etc.).
