Taxi or transfer to port in Miami?

I'll be coming from the airport and have an 11:30am PAT, group 7. I want to board the ship asap to put my name on the cabana waiting list (low chance, I know, but it's worked before). I estimate that I'll be available to get a taxi or get in line for the transfer bus around 10:30am. I already have the transfer booked but am considering dropping it to get a taxi, instead. I'm sailing solo so price is not the issue, just timing.

Advice? Experiences? Are taxis immediately available at the Miami airport?

Taxis are readily available and the transfer bus might sit for a while waiting for on more guests. If time is a priority, a taxi would be faster. You might also consider Lyft/Uber.

We checked in at Miami airport for DCL transfer at 10:20. We didn’t get called for the shuttle until 11:30 or so, then waited in a huge line to get into the port.

So definitely don’t recommend DCL transfer that late if you want to get on ship early.

We are using Uber to get us to port. I've been watching and it'll be like $15 for an uber. If you're trying not to be dropped off with a crowd I'd opt for uber or taxi

How have people found the taxi situation to be on the way back to the airport?

I second the taxi in Miami option. Fast, quick, and a flat rate. Bonus, if the terminal your flight arrives in is not the same as the DCL transfer check in station, you don't have to walk forever dragging your luggage - seriously; walking from one end to the other in the arrivals area is a haul. Just walk out the door from the luggage carousel and head to the taxi stand.

Good to know about the change. I had not heard that yet.
