Taxi or shuttle?

Hi everyone,
We are headed to San Diego for a day trip and I am wondering which would be easier, take a taxi from the San Diego airport to the zoo or take a shuttle? I'm mostly concerned about being their quickly as well as returning to the airport that night quickly. We are just taking a day trip but I'm not sure which is easiest. Also would a cab for 2 really be that expensive? Thanks for the help!

I am not sure what shuttle you are talking about but to get from the airport to the zoo by taxi is under $20, around $17. Just did it last month. Easy to do. LOTS of taxis waiting when we got our of the zoo to take us back.
