Hi there,

We are going on our first family trip to Disneyland with our 5yr old and 16mo old. Grandparents are coming too which makes 6 of us. I am wondering if I should book the Super Shuttle or take a taxi or the DLE. I heard that a taxi would be good b/c there would be little waiting. Would we be able to find a taxi big enough for us easliy? Would there be a problem of traffic? We are flying into Orange County at 3:20pm. I checked with Super Shuttle and it would be $95 round trip for our family.

Also, does anyone know if we would have to bring carseats for the kids with a taxi or Super Shuttle?

Please help,

Kim

Carseats for both methods of conveyance (that just sounds silly LOL).

I've never had to wait more than a few minutes for Super Shuttle, and on one trip DS and I were the only passengers; on the other trip I was one of 2 total. I imagine with 6 pre-paid passengers they might not wait all that long!

You could bring carseats for the taxi as well. They have 7 passenger taxi vans at the airport and the cost would be about $40 each way not incl. tip. You would need to negotiate a flat fee back to the airport ahead of time, since they would want to charge you mileage on the return trip.

I know others have used private shuttles/limos, etc that seem pretty reasonable for large families. Hopefully they will chime in.

You might check with Super Shuttle, they told us that for us to get our own van just for our group of 6-7, it's $67 from Orange County airport to Disneyland area hotels. That way, you don't have to wait. I done that in the past and it has worked well. Not to mention that if there are seven of us, we save $3.;)

Well, that is the cost for one way. They normally charge $10 for one way.

Definitely the shuttle. When we were there in November I got a private car due to the fact we had a 15 hour flight. It cost me $45 for the car. On the way back we got a taxi and it cost over $100.

Unless things have drastically changed in the past 8 months, taxi is going to be cheaper (and faster)...they do not charge per person like supershuttle does. For my family of 4, from SNA to Disneyland hotel was $30 including a generous tip.

One thing to be very aware of w/the taxi is rush hour. I remember several years ago going down with my boyfriend and we were practically standstill. The taxi bill cost over $100 from SNA! My recommendation is to try and do a flat fee if you do the taxi.

For that many people, I would call a car service. It would be as much or a little cheaper, and if you ask, most car services can provide car seats if you request them. But you can arrange both trips(to and from) at the same time for one fee. And they will usually meet you and help you with the luggage.

Have a great trip!
