Does anyone know the cost of a taxi from Orlando airport to Disney resorts vs. the Mears transportation? Thanks.

personally I would use Tiffany town cars, if there are at least 3 people it works out to the same price as mears plus they meet you at the baggage claim at MCO

Another vote for Tiffany! No smelly cab, no tight quarters with numerous others and overly chatty drivers and a grocery stop. They meet you right at baggage and you're on your way:) .

I believe a taxi is $45 w/o tip, one way, from the airport to most WDW resorts. Tiffany's is $75.00 round trip w/o tip. If memory serves, Mears is $28 p/p, one way, but you make several stops along the way. Tiffany's is the way to go.

Kdiana, I would like to point you at two sponsors of this website -- YourRide.Net and FL Tours.

For my last WDW vacation, I used YourRide.Net for quite a few trips back & forth between the airport and WDW (my family, my sister's family, and one of my best friends all used YourRide). All of us had wonderful experiences with that company, especially with our driver, "Rabbit." He was wonderful. I got very ill towards the tail end of my trip and had to keep pushing my return date back. After two days of doing so, Rabbit told me that if I didn't feel better by the next day, he was going to personally pick me up at my resort and drive me over to the hospital in Celebration. I thought that was just the sweetest thing; what a kind, decent man. Anyway, I will definitely be using Rabbit and YourRide.Net on my next WDW vacation. This is all my humble opinion.

We just got back and used Yourride and loved it. Rabbit was wonderful. He met us at the baggage claim and helped us with our luggage. He knew we would have a lot of luggage and stroller with the 5 of us so he brought a van for us at no extra charge. He provided a free infant car seat to use in his van and made a trip to the grocery store on the way to the resort. He even had a computer with a DVD player in his van and was playing Shrek on it for my kids. Boy what a treasure he was. I would definitely use him again. The cost was $80 round trip. Have a great time.

We have always used Mears. It costs $27 pp, round trip, to WDW. Since it's been just the two of us, the last few times going, it's cheaper to use Mears. Depending on how many people are on the shuttle (and I don't know how they determine if you get a mini van or a bus), you could stop at three other resorts before you're dropped off, or go directly to your resort. On the return trip, we have always had a bus pick us up, with stops at several other resorts on the way, to the airport. Like someone else said... if there's four or more in your party, it's cheaper to take the towncar.

We've used Tiffany's twice and loved them! No trouble at all. Much better experience than with Mears although it wasn't bad.

Another vote for Tiffany. Have used it twice.....very good service. I haven't used the others, so I can't say.

There are only two of us, but we still use Happy Limo rather than Mears. We used to do the shuttle before we knew any better, but it is a real pain to be crammed in like cattle and make numerous stops on the way. We have been spoiled by towncars! We're using Happy again for our Disney cruise this weekend.

My family was very impressed with Tiffany Town Car. There are 5 of us, so it was much cheaper than Mears. A friend and myself are leaving in a few days and we are paying the extra $$ for Tiffany because I was that impressed. We want to start enjoying Disney as soon as possible after we land and not have to wait for other people to be dropped off at their resorts before us.

On my way..... soon.... only days....

Because a towncar service will cost you the same as (if not less than) a cab, i wouldn't even consider a cab.

Mears might be cheaper if there are only a few of you, but it will take you longer and you will have to ride with a lot of other people. Plus, using a towncar service you can get the driver to stop a a local grocery store to pick up goodies for your stay!

I also suggest Yourride.net They consistently get good reviews and sponsor this message board.

The Mears cattle car service is not the best way to go. I personally suggest Tiffany Towncar. http://www.tiffanytowncar.com/ They reliable and good. We're using them again for our July trip, limo this time, and I just booked for my son & his wife's July trip, one of their towncars.
