Has anyone taken a taxi from the Radisson to the cruise ship? I know there is a shuttle, but I want to know what my options are if the early shuttles are full. How much does it cost?

Also, does Avis have its own shuttle? I will be renting a car and dropping it at the Radisson. If Avis has a shuttle, does anyone know how often it runs?

MickeyKart,
If you run into any problems, would more than glad to pick you and yours up and take you to the ship - we are now allowed to drop off cruisers - we are only one mile from the radisson and less then 3 miles from the port - just call me at the shop at 800-950-4559 if we can help

Avis does have its own shuttle and it seemed to run very often in the morning (almost continuous every 15 -20 minutes). The Radisson shuttle is disorganized and was a bit frustrating. Many people tried to "cut in line" even though you are required to sign up with the front desk. However, the driver refused to check the list to see who was supposed to be on the shuttle. It also appeared that people were driving up that morning and parking their cars and going straight to the shuttles. I began to wonder if some are abusing the priviledge given to guests.

avis and radisson shuttles both ran very frequently on the 5/25 western cruise--in fact, going to the ship, we were the only two aboard the van! no troubles, would never hesitate to do it again!

How early would you advise dropping a car off to catch the shuttle? I think the terminal opens @ 10:30. Is 9:30 too early?

We checked our car back in around 10:00 in the morning. Waited
about 5 minutes and AVIS shuttle took us to port. No hassles at all. Coming back AVIS shuttle had not arrived yet, but Radisson van was there with no riders. Asked and they took us back to Radisson to pick up our AVIS car for return to Orlando.

With new security the van drop off is in parking lot across from terminal. Ok when you are going as they put luggage directly in bins for shuttle to ship. Coming back had to walk luggage back across street which could be difficult if you do not have rolling bags.

Have a great trip!!

All the more reason to flag down a porter and then tip them well!
