Taxi from park to park?

We're using Magic Express and won't have a car. We are booking a Triple A package, so I guess we can get a Diamond Parking Pass if we want to rent a car.

However, we're staying at the Contemporary and hope to make full use of the monorail.

But, because we plan to park hop and make ADRs in resorts and multiple parks, we're wondering if it would be less of a hassle to take a taxi from one park to another, when there's not a boat or monorail available.

For instance, after spending a day at Animal Kingdom, we might like to finish the evening at Hollywood Studios, and hopefully catch Fantasmic.

Would we be able to take a taxi from Animal Kingdom to Hollywood Studios, or maybe one of the resorts, or even another park? I know we can wait for a bus for free, but if we're pressed for time, can we grab a taxi?

We'd rather not bother with a rental car, but use in park transportation or taxis when possible. We'll be staying eight nights, so a rental car for the week would add up.

Thanks for any info!

There are taxis at all the parks. I realize that a car rental for 8 days would add up, but, I can tell you taking taxis is not cheap.

We wouldn't use the taxis a lot. Mostly at parks where the only transportation is by bus. We like being on the water, so if we can take a boat where there's no monorail, we'd like to do that.

Where would the taxis be? Are they lined up at the entrance/exit, or will we have to call one and wait?

Thanks so much!

Buses from Park to Park are fast and easy to get on

Especially since lots of people don't even know they are there. I often see people on the Dis, people who have been around a longtime, not realize there are park to park buses.

And I was on a bus going back to OKW with a family who had been there an entire week, who weren't staying at OKW, but were leaving DHS to go to OKW to catch a bus to the other park they wanted to go to, with absolutely no clue they could have just gone to the park directly. And no driver had told them (since it was their last day and I was too chicken to be the "messenger" that they'd wasted so much time, I couldn't figure out how to tell them (I hope someone does before their next trip). Nor did the driver on the bus we were on, who HAD TO have heard them (we were sitting near the front on the otherwise empty bus and she was talking LOUDLY), tell her.

Taxis might add up. And rental cars don't have to be horrifyingly expensive, if you have the time to really seek out a good deal (and if one shows up). We rented a car for nearly 2 weeks in September for just over $200. Considering that at one point it was slated to be nearly $600, but time and patience and finding the right combo of code and coupon prevailed, and I got it down to my rate.

Taxis are usually available without calling from early afternoon until the crowds thin out after park closing. If you're one of the last to leave a park, you may have to call 407-422-2222.

The taxi stands are generally about a 3-5-minute walk from the park gate. Ask a cast member for directions as you exit.

There are no taxis at MK. You need to take the monorail or ferry to TTC, or you can walk to CR.

I would plan on each trip costing about $20, one way. Taking a taxi may save you 5 or 10 minutes over taking the bus.

In all reality, it's when going between resorts that you run into issues. But park to park is easy and fairly quick. There are buses (or monorail or boats) running between all parks. For instance...when at MK, you go to the TTC (via boat or monorail) and you can get the monorail to Epcot, or a bus to either DHS or AK...and then reverse that if going to MK from other parks.
At DHS???? Boat (or walk) to Epcot. Bus to TTC for MK and bus to AK.
At AK...bus to DHS, Epcot and TTC for MK.
It's all easy.

But, if you're at a resort and want to get to another resort, then it gets lengthy.
