We are thinking of taking a taxi from AK to HS to avoid bus transfers but we've never done this on WDW property before so I'm wondering if it's worth it and how easy is it to get a taxi at one of the parks? We are from Canada and our cell does not work in the US. TIA

There is a direct Disney Transport bus that runs between AK and DHS (in both directions). In other words, you won't need to take a bus from a park to somewhere and then transfer and take another bus to the second park ... there is a direct bus between the two parks.

In fact, there is direct Disney Transport between and among each of the four theme parks.

I hope this satisfies your needs.

Taxis are plentiful outside of each park as well as outside of each resort ... no need to make a phone call to get a taxi at those places.

Thank you. I didn't realize there were direct buses. i just assumed you had to go to the ttc.

I just got this info from the transportation section on the homw page. It says for AK to HS:
Using Disney Transportation:
Board bus marked Downtown Disney Pleasure Island then transfer to Bus marked Disney-MGM Studios
Approximate Travel Time:
1 -2 hours

Now I'm confused:confused3

See, that's what's wrong with the transportation 'wizards' you can find online - yes, even the one at this site's home page :(. They're not always accurate.

THIS - the Transportation - FORUM is the BEST source for how to most efficiently get from one Disney location to another. Sure, your result may not be as instantaneous as a 'wizard', but it'll be pretty quick... and it'll be right :teeth:.

Wow. Unfortunately, you found really really bad information. I say this because there is no such thing as a Disney Transport bus that goes from any park to Downtown Disney. PERIOD. Not to mention the fact that Pleasure Island doesn't really exist anymore ....

And not to be ultra-nitpicky, but further proof that that citation is outdated is the fact that the park has not been called Disney-MGM Studios for some time.

Thank you both so much. I have learned my lesson. I will always come to the transportation forum when I have a transportation question :thumbsup2 It is kinda funny that the "wizard" was soooooo wrong. I liked your answer much better anyhow :goodvibes
