Does anyone the approximate cab fare to get around disney. One day, I will be going from All Star Movies to the Polynesian, and i Figured the quickest way is by taxi. Please help.

You are looking at a fare of about 8 dollars plus tip... But the best way would be to take the bus to magic kindom and hop up on the monorail which will take you right to the Poly. Have a wonderful trip.... :cool1:

I think $8.00 is a little low. We went from the AKL to the Poly and it was about $16.00 plus tip. We usually liked to take taxis when we went from resort to resort for dinner. We tired Disney transportation and we just had to leave so much earlier than with a taxi to make sure we were on time

Taxis are normally waiting outside all WDW resorts. If one is not available the Cast Member outside will get one for you right away. The fares, of coures, depend on the distance and time it takes to get from point A to B.
That being said, I always recommend to people that the easiest way to get to any Disney resort is to plan on the nearest theme park for that part of the day. From the Magic Kingdom you can monorail over to the Poly, or any of the MK resorts.
Just take the bus from your resort to the MK. Spend some time there and then head over to the Poly.

I'm not the OP but thanks for the information. We are planning on using disney buses/transport for the most part but I've budgeted for a few taxi rides.... just in case. I figured 4 trips maximum at $50, so I think I'm on target. Better than the $200 for the rental car (plus another $100 for booster seats!)
cheers

Are there taxi vans? We have 5 people and I don't know if we would fit in a taxi car so are there vans or something that holds 5+ people?

I would also think $8 including tip is low. I'd budget at least $14-$16 or so, even if you don't spend that much.

And if you want to get straight to the Poly quickly from ASM, taxi really is the fastest way. It's fine to work in going to the Poly after a day at MK or something, but for going straight to the Poly, going to MK would require the transfer from the bus to the monorail or boat to the Poly.

Yes there are taxi vans. The Cast Member outside might have to call and get one for you but I have seen them waiting as well as the normal taxis.

One night we took a taxi to POFQ from the Boardwalk (4 of us) and it was $20 with the tip. I didn't see the meter, and DH tips well so it could have been less. We thought it was well worth it, though, since with transferring busses at DTD it would have taken close to an hour (over Christmas) to get back, and we had two already tired kids (not to mention parents!)
