I am so super excited to report that in two days, I can e-file my taxes. It took me about 45 minutes to get all the data plugged into the site. It was free, until I asked it to do my state taxes, then it cost me about $30.

I am oh so happy to report that I am getting a whopping $4 state refund. :lmao:

but you are getting a refund... now that is good news and you did not have to pay anything over and above what they took out of your salary. I am sure I will be paying through the nose even in retirement.....did you know they actually tax social security disability??? You have to love living in MA or as we affectionately call it Taxachusetts.

Wow.

I haven't received my w2 from work yet. As soon as that's done I will file. I usually get a good amount back with the mortgage and taxes. This year we will see LOL.

Filed, done, mailed, faxed!

Just waiting for the refund! :cool1:

Mine are done, both fed and state. Woo hoo! And I get a decent return! Woo hoo hoo!

I am hoping to get mine done this weekend. I have to grocery shop tomorrow, go for a walk with my SIL, and then the rest of the weekend is devoted to getting our refund!!
mackey...........my mum lives in PA and she pays more taxes than we do here in taxachusetts believe it or not!

yeah = we just started our taxes - since we cannot file together (damn laws :rotfl: ) we are trying to figure out which of us should claim our daughter. we are getting a pretty big tax credit for adoption costs. we have worked the numbers both ways and it seems that however claims her would get a pretty nice refund:woohoo: . turbo tax is a great tool!

we did some rough numbers and were wondering - does it seem possible to get back more in a refund then you actually paid in federal taxes??

I mailed ours on Thursday. We usually have our refund by St. Patrick's day, but I think I might have gotten them in a bit earlier this year. We have a nice refund coming, so that will help with all those Disney costs in August! ;)

Interesting. But probably because of the adoption and deductions - it may be possible.

I did mine last night, but don't want to send it in until I receive the actual tax statement from my mortgage company. I have the figures but just want to be sure. I think I'm e-filing mine. I'm even getting a state refund!!!!

Mine are finished too! And the refund should get here just in time to pay the next deposit on the wedding photographer! Woo Hoo!

:woohoo:

We found that we got back ALL of our adoption expenses for each DD when DP adopted them (one in 2004 and one in 2006), so that may be it. Makes for a nice return. :woohoo: BTW, she's adorable, how old is she?

How did you manage that???? I always have to pay Corzine something....I am planning to do mine next weekend. I am still waiting for the stuff from the mortgage company - they are always late.

I sure wish we could file our taxes jointly.. would save us some money since I am a stay at home dad to our adopted son. Unfortunately we have to file separately. It sure would be nice if we get a new president that would repeal the part of defense of marriage act that currently forbids same sex couples from getting joint survivor benefits/tax benefits. We can dream, can't we...

Good news - Refund was deposited in the bank yesterday morning.

Bad news - Checks went out to pay down some bills last night, the refund is gone!

ZAP!

Federal is done for both my partner and myself.....for the 1st time ever, we are filing as a married couple in California....new rules went into effect this year and treat us as married....

This is the first year i'm filing after working a full year at full time, so for once i am not getting back everything they took, but a good portion.

BTW, how long does it take them to send a tax return back if I forgot to sign it??
