Tax refunds

Mine was accepted late last night! Says refund will be by March 7. (Had education credits.)

Finally found out that it is because I have distributions without contributions.
No word, however, on whether it will ever be acceptable via e-file.
I am wondering if I need to just mail the thing and be done with it.

No. Do not mail it if unless it is formally rejected. Otherwise the IRS will flag it as a duplicate and may consider it an attempt to claim a 2nd refund. (Fraud).
The IRS lacks both common sense and a sense of humor

Okay, should I worry or is it just because they have so many people filing?
I need reassurance or I'm going to have a heart attack from worrying.

Hi there. It will be accepted...just takes a bit of time. If it gets kicked out and rejected, you'll receive a notice through the filing system you used. (I think all will, but I only know the systems I use)

We had one rejected because I had the wrong AGI from previous year. Easy enough fix, but it was longer to accept after the initial file.

I'm pretty sure, it's that the system can only handle so many at a time. There were quite a few people lined up at the H&RBlock and JacksonHewitt kiosks around here--can't imagine what the actual offices look like.

Hang in there...it's the best we can do while we wait. :hippie:

No such luck for me. My federal was deposited today (only took a week), but no State refund yet.

When did you file the Indiana return?

January 27th. I check today and my state still says "accepted" check your state website for a deposit date. It is safetly in my account but the turbotax status is not accurate for dating info I guess on mine.

Just thought I would log into the IRS website to see if there was any more information. I got the Turbo Tax email yesterday on the 14th that it was accepted. Today I tried the WHERE IS MY REFUND and it says it was accepted and I should expect our refund in 21 days.

I got the 21 day message also. I filed on Feb 1, got the 21 day message today, may not have my refund for 36 days from filing. Wow.

I feel lucky... Filed on the 8th and got my refund this morning... Fastest ever.

We were finally able to file on the 14th because of the education credit. Yesterday morning nothing was showing up but by last night it shows that they have it. Has anyone with the ed credit gotten theirs accepted yet or are they all just showing up that they are in their hands?

I just checked the irs site~ ours was accepted on the 14th; I got the email from turbo tax. Irs is showing accepted but not fully processed ~ so more waiting

Finally got a date this morning! Filed/Accepted 2/1, my date is 2/21, looks like they made me wait the full 21 days.

Happy to announce mine was finally accepted!! Now I suppose the waiting begins...
