Thanks for the answer on form 8888. Now my page has gone from status bar to not recognizing my info. Anyone else having problems with the site today?

Guess I'm going to have carve out a chunk of time to call...

***Searched some more and found some early replies that they had this status change the day before it updated to the DDD. Fingers crossed.***

I'm so sorry nothing has changed for you yet. we just changed today. I'll be honest, I never thought we would change. The entire sutuation has been a circus. I have been following things on the H R Block Facebook page. There are so many people dealing with this. Hoping things change for you over night!

Have you tried to order you transcripts for 2012?
I have every day since last Wednesday with no luck.. but rumor has it that if you can order them it won't be much longer. (whether or not that is true for everyone or not, I have no idea)
I am so ready for this to be done. I've been on the HR Block facebook page but don't post.... but there were so many of us hit by this.

Hopefully we will both see some change by the end of next week. DH called on Friday and the young lady at the IRS was really sweet and apologetic and said we were out of errors and it wouldn't be much longer.. so here is hoping...

Thanks for asking. I got an email from H&R Friday morning, and yesterday when I checked the IRS website, I have a direct deposit date of Wed. Fingers crossed.

I just filed electronically. We are expecting a refund. It says 2 weeks or less if you have direct deposit.. but when you try to register for direct deposit it says you can't file electronically if you are just enrolling

So I imagine I am looking at 3 or 4 weeks from now.

I have never even heard from H&R Block. I called them but they have not contacted me.

So I just got off of the phone with the IRS again. Not good news for me. They had me on hold for a long time and came back and said for returns with the education credit it would be 4 to 6 weeks from MARCH 15th. I said you mean Feb 15, and she said no March 15. I said when I called last time they said it got out of the corrections dept on Feb 21 and she said she cant comment on what I was told before and timelines change and this is the new timeline education credit returns.

I despise the IRS.

We are still waiting with education credit. Nothing has changed.

Went through a similar situation with 2010 taxes on a real estate issue they were not prepared to handle.

We received this today from our IRS department:

Problem:
Taxpayers who electronically filed a return early this tax season claiming an education credit (Form 8863) may experience a delay receiving their refund. This delay was caused by a programming error by a few software providers, including TaxWise, who submitted returns with information missing on the Form 8863. Over 8,000 returns claiming education credits were prepared by volunteers prior to TaxWise update 27.07 around February 21, which corrected the error. The IRS estimates that around 10% of these returns may have been impacted. The issue is actively being addressed by the IRS, CCH/TaxWise and other providers who experienced a similar problem.


What should volunteers do for these taxpayers?

Affected taxpayers may receive Letter 12C from the IRS. Letter 12C is a notice used by the IRS when additional information is needed from the taxpayer. When you are approached by taxpayers experiencing this delay, we recommend using the information below to guide your response:

The IRS recommends the following actions regarding Form 8863 and Letter 12C:

If your client has received a Letter 12C related only to issues surrounding Form 8863, Questions 25 -26, and has already responded to that letter, no further action is necessary.

If your client has received a Letter 12C related only to issues surrounding Form 8863, Questions 25 -26, and has not yet responded to that letter, no further action or response is necessary at this time.

If your client has not received a Letter 12C, no further action is necessary at this time.

Please note:
If your client has received a Letter 12C related to issues surrounding Form 8863, Questions 25 -26, as well as other issues, your client should respond to that letter.

If your client has received a Letter 12C concerning any issue not related to Form 8863, your client needs to respond to that letter.

Returns affected by this issue are currently being processed. If the taxpayer has not received his or her refund, apologize for the delay and assure the taxpayer that the return is being processed.

I was finally able to order a transcript and use the IRS tool to fill in my DS and DD FAFSA forms, today. I have tried everyday. I too was part of this H and R Block fiasco. My Where's my Refund still shows it is in process, with the old system ( no arrow) How long did it take to get your refund after you could order a transcript? TIA
