Tax on new package

This may sound like a silly question but when I booked a vacation on the new 7 for 4 package it did not appear to include taxes. Did anybody else notice this. In the small print it says it may be added later.

Noticed the same thing when my aunt booked a 4/3 last night. We assumed tax would be added at the end, but no. Just the original price that showed on the booking page. Kind of weird to me. Also, I got the same figures when pricing to rebook my package at the lower price. However, my TA sent me the price I saw listed-- no more $$ for tax. She always sends the tax include price. Doing the math, the price that said "tax not included" was actually exactly what the room $$ times 4 nights, plus tax, plus the 4 day hoppers inc. tax would be. So I'm right there with you on the confusing little superscript thing that leads to the tax not included. Hope I haven't thoroughly confused you while agreeing with you!

OK, I'm going to add another thing here. I just ran the numbers on the WDW resort booking site both with the 4/3 and regular. For the 4/3, I come up with exactly the price mentioned above-- as if I multiplied it all out figuring for the tax, but at the bottom, it says "This price does not include tax."

So, I did it using the regular booking link and I got a new room only price that is only $0.12 different from what my TA gave me as the room only price and she said tax included. So does the website- it says "Total Room Price includes tax".

When I book the room and 7 day hoppers (with tre regular link) it is $3.50 +/- different from the tax included price my TA gave me as the Before AAA price, but this time, it reverts to the "This price does not include tax." So...I think that the "...does not include..." is an error as the math supports the 12.5 % tax already being added into the package using both methods.

And there goes another 20 minutes that I could have spent vacuuming. Thank you DIS boards!

For what it's worth (I know lots of CMs make mistakes -- both the ones I spoke with yesterday did), I did ask if the package included tax and I was told that it did.

I've never booked a package before, so I'm no expert on it, but if this is the total cost of my package, how can they ask for more money for the taxes?

I agree with this-- it is very confusing when they say there is no tax on this package. Because the math proves it has already been taxed. Try multiplying your room rate x # paid days (say 4 for the special), multiply by 1.125 for 12.5% tax and then add the appropriate ticket choice you added to the package, but price it using Mousesavers price list that already includes tax (or any other good site). You should find it to match the WDW booking site to the penny. Poor choice of phrasing I guess.
