Tax & Gratuity

Ok, For my $10,000 min spend I know this cannot include tax & gratuity. (I presume that you pay tax on everything) But could one of you lovely people tell me if the $2,500 rental for the WP includes the tax and also if things such as the MK photoshoot include the tax?

Also do I have to pay the gratuity (to disney through my contact) for things such as the MK Photo shoot (or do I just give the photographer a gratuity in cash) Do I have to pay tax & gratuity for characters to attend? Do I have to add gratuity to all my flowers?

Oh Im just so confused So I hope that this makes sense!

Think of the gratuity as a service charge - it isn't optional the way a "tip"- style gratuity is. The service charge is slapped on anything that requires service from a real live person: food, beverages, and the setup of audio-visual elements. (Floral and decor have set-up and delivery fees instead of service charges - same thing.)

There is tax on darn near everything except photography, videography, entertainment and transportation (these also do not get service charges). And I've never heard of anyone tipping a photographer (which is not to say it hasn't been done!).

So, to answer your questions, there is tax on the WP venue-rental fee but not on the MK Shoot. There is no tax or gratuity for having characters, and there is no gratuity for the flowers (but there are setup and delivery fees).

Hiya

On our beo we did got charged tax on the WP fee, Floral, Cake, location rental fee and all food and beverage. We didn't get charged tax on transportation, photography or entertainment. Gratuity is added on to all food and beverage at 20%. We also got charged a cake handling fee of $90 on top of the tax.
I know how you feel when it comes to the tax and gratuity, we're from the UK so we're not used to having to add it all on. It will become alot clearer once you get your beo. If it's any help I added the tax and gratuity to all of the items before I got my beo so it came in lower than I thought which was a plus!

Oh thank-you! Its all a bit confusing! Think like you said buzzbuzz I will just add everything on i.e worst case and then have a nice surprice (hopefully ) When I get my beo. Thanks again....I can try and sleep now!

If your photographer, dj, and coordinator do a great job, you can tip them with gift cards! My sister did that and the vendors ate it up.. Best Buy is always safe.
