Does anyone know when the tax free weeks/weekend is for Tenn, FL, NC, SC I live in KY and like to go shopping that weekend esp. in TN and GA.:cool1:

No FL?:confused3 except for last year, I try to do some school shopping in FL. because everybody in DE wears the same things from the same few stores here.

I dont recall fla doing it last year.. Im sure the economy has something to do with it.. they need that sales tax..

Do you find the savings that great? Here in central NC the store usually have better sales the weeks before "tax free" and then knowing(hoping) people will shop because of tax free the prices are not really that great.

if you'd like to come down to alabama, ours is August 7-9, 2009. :)

Here in GA, walmart had great sales on school supplies. (it's normally when I stock up on office supplies)

Old Navy last year had pretty much the entire store 50% off.

In PA, you don't pay sales tax on "normal" clothes all the time. For example, you would have to pay tax on formal wear, but not on jeans, sweaters, and shirts.

In CT, only items of clothing over $75 are taxable anyway, so our tax free week is only good for those people who can spend more than $75 on any one item (up to $350 maybe?). For me, that might be a winter coat, but not much else!

yep I had thought so and we are looking at adding another .01 to the sales tax here in fla.

I'm going to PA next month. Is there any other items not taxable? Also, do you know of any good outlets near Sesame Place or Hershey's. Thanks.

There are outlets right next door to hershey park. We do not tax clothes or food. Everything else we pay tax on including soda and koolaid. The sales tax is 6percent. I do not know what the previous poster is talking about when they say "normal" clothes. We do not pay tax on any clothes at all. I did not pay tax on my wedding gown when I got married and my husband has never paid tax on any of his business clothes. The only time you would have tax on formal wear is if you are renting them.
