I was looking over the menus and trying to decide what to taste during the tasting session. Does anyone know how many things they allow you to try? We are having a plated dinner and wanted to do a duo entree. DF wants to try 2 different beef dishes and I wanted to try a chicken dish and a fish dish. I'm not quite sure how they limit you because what if you don't really like anything that you try? TIA!!

2 appertisers, 2 salads, 2 entrees and 1 dessert is on the list i have to send back

I'm sure if you talk to your planner they might be able to do something for you

Well if you are planning on a duo entree maybe you can pick a beef dish with chicken and a beef dish with fish as that would be trying two duo plates? That's what I would write down lol!

cant hurt to write it down can it they either do it or let you know they cant

They gave me a form to fill out that had x number of lines for each course. I tried 3 appetizers, 2 soups, 2 salads, and 2 entrees. I would imagine that you could ask your planner if you want to try an additional entree.

I like this idea ;)

Thanks ladies! I'm definitely going to email my list of things to try and see if she says its ok.

Also, how long did the tasting part of the session actually last?

Mine is scheduled for 1.5hr... :)

They raced us through ours - I think it was an hour or less.

Also, if they don't let you taste more than 2 main courses, pick the ones they could possibly screw up :rotfl: Meaning that, like, straight-up steak you prolly don't need to taste, but chicken in a fancy sauce may taste like rubber, and fish could be bland/overcooked. That way you'll know if they can actually do it the way you want it. :thumbsup2

What really bothered me was that they did not even off this to me. I went to my planning session expecting one, thinking it was included. I also figured we would see the sites, nope. Neither the tasting session nor the site visit were even mentioned as options for us. I was kinda disappointed in my planning session as I figured it would include at least the site visit.

I dont think the site visit is usually included, we have our planning session in 10 days an we have asked to do another site visit- they said they would arrange it!

I faxed my tasting form back with 3 entrees lisit- a beef, chicken and fish- we couldnt decide- I have heard back that they got it- they have not said we cant have all 3 .

FYI: When we scheduled our planning session I thought that included site visit and menu tasting. But they are all separate. The confirmation I received is for 3 separate times.

My site visit is scheduled with my coordinator and the menu tasting along with planning session are with my planner. I was glad I asked or we would've been disappointed too...

We haven't set all the details for our planning session however we knew going in that we wouldn't get a tasting - since our reception is at the Napa Room. :sad2: Our way around that is we'll be making reservations and dining there on our own dime - which considering all that's going into the wedding is a bit insane  but Disney restaurants gets away with stuff like that I guess. And the castle view makes up for it.

I was excited though when we added a Rehearsal Dinner/Dessert Party at the Italy Isola - I thought ohhhh now we'll get to do a tasting since it will be covered by EPCOT catering and we'll have to be creating a menu:woohoo:. Plus our party size will be the same for both the rehearsal dinner and the reception. But in talking to our planner I was told pretty much that's not the case because they don't consider it a dinner of the same level or some such nonsense! :rolleyes:I guess I'll have to live vicariously through you all for the tasting information.

But at least I learned one thing today (thanks to this thread) I now know I can request a site visit at least! :dance3:But that I must actually request one to get it.

Thanks
