Tassimo (using discs) or Keurig (using K-cups)

Love our Keurig -- we buy k-cups by the case (of 80) at BJ's. I run just hot water thru it to make tea or hot chocolate. Quicker than the kettle!

Oooh. Must stop at BJ's today to get more k-cups. I already drank three cups so far today! I'll be out of k-cups before I know it!;)

It is just SO easy and SO good!!! Congrats on your awesome price for K-Cups!! We also buy ours through Green Mountain Cafe Express Club. Our next delivery is Tuesday and I hope we make it LOL!!! Our favorite is Green Mountain Golden French Toast (seasonal) we stocked up on 4 boxes in March before they switched seasons. :goodvibes

I will check that source out as well. I just ordered 48 cups from Amazon for $17. That seemed like a decent price. I sure don't want to run out now that I'm hooked! :surfweb:

I just had a question for those of you in the know....

I saw a couple of posts mention making cappucinos and lattes with the Tassimo, but nothing on this for the Keurig. Does the Keurig not do these?

I've been put in charge of investigating which of these would be best for our small office here at work. :rotfl:

I have the Keurig and I absolutely LOVE it! We have the my K-cup thingy too. The best part is if I want reg coffee and my husband wants Hazelnut we both get what we want. I was actually contemplating bringing my keurig to Disney with me. I love it that much. The k-cups on the Keurig web site are pretty reasonable in price. If you order 4 boxes at a time there is free shipping and also some more discounts. Sometimes I get the 18 packs at Kohls when I have a 30% coupon. They are usually $9.99 (like BBB) so they end up at $7 for 18. Like others said you never get a bad cup of coffee!

We brought ours on our last trip. I'm not a coffee drinker, but my DH loved his cup every morning.

As far ar I know the Keurig only makes coffe, tea and hot chocolate. The Tassimo has some kind of special "frothing" type thing for the creamers to make the Latte's & Cappucinno's.

You totally rock! My husband told me I was crazy. Did you fly or drive? I'm now rethinking him talking me out of it.

Actually the Tassimo has special milk disks for making lattes, caps & mochas. The milk disks don't have to be refrigerated but they do have expiration dates.

If people in your office are big on things like caps & lattes then go for the Tassimo. If they prefer straight coffee then go for the Keurig (which reminds me...I need to order some more K cups!)

Thanks for the replies! I think someone is going shopping over the holiday weekend, so I'll pass along the information. :goodvibes

ETA: One last question - I've seen the K-cups and realize they're sealed, plastic cups - thus keeping the coffee fresh. Are the Tassimo disks the same? I've seen a picture online, but I can't tell if they're actually sealed plastic disks (airtight) or more like Senseo pods that are just sealed filter type things - but not airtight.

I got a flavor assortment of Gloria Jean's k-cup coffees, and cappucinno is one of the flavors. I haven't tried it yet, but I don't see how it can be a flavor-cappucino is espresso with frothed milk. We will see..:confused3

For anyone who wants a cheap (well, relatively speaking) site for k-cups, this site's boxes are (most) 24 cups for under $10, free shipping on orders over $50. If I did my math correctly it comes out to around $.43 each. That was the best price I could find. I didn't have to pay sales tax. http://11thstreetcoffee.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=23&gclid=CKiPsM-jzpoCFQJHxwodXTsOlw

The T discs are plastic discs sealed like the K Cups so they are airtight. Each T disc has a barcode that the Tassimo reads, which tells it what's inside & therefore how much water to use, length of "brew" time, etc.

DisneyQueen- I have never seen cappucino K cups! Hmmm...I may have to try & track down one of the Gloria Jean's assortments.
