Up early today as we are doing two parks in one day (not something we usually do) A quick bite to eat in the hotel then on to the Animal Kingdom.

We got there just as it was opening, as usual the queues we very long with people waiting to get it, but they soon disappear once the gates open.

Usually through the gates its everyone off to Kilamanjaro Safari's, but not this time, everyone turned right and Everest was the destination.

Not being big ride fans we went left and after getting a fastpass for the Safari we headed over to watch Nemo the Musical.

The show replaces Tarzan which we never rated, in fact its the only Disney show we have ever walked out of, this new show however is brilliant and the crowds really packed in to see it, the queue for the next show went half way round Dinoland.

After a few other rides and character greeting (someone must have a word with Mickey and tell him not to buy such naff sweaters for Minnie),

It was time to go over to MGM for a fantasmic dinner package at Mama Melrose.

We head straight over to the restaurant and we were seated straight away but there was a long wait for people without a booking I heard over two hours mentioned and this was at 3.40pm, The Dining Plan seems to be packing the people into the Restaurants.

For starters we had Crispy Calamari and two portions of Oven-baked Caprino Cheese, then DD went for the four cheese flatbread, DH had the Wood-grilled Salmon and I had Oven-baked Chicken alla Parmigiana and for desert it was two Warm Chocolate Truffle Cakes and a Tiramisu.

Even though we go to Florida regularly we don’t eat at many Disney restaurants and I was surprised at the menu. There was a limited choice of appetizers, entrees and desserts. Is this normal for a Disney Restaurant as we are booked on the Dining Plan in August? :confused3

Our slot for Fantasmic was at the 7pm showing so we walked around and getting Muppets 3D, Mermaid and a few characters.

We headed down to the front of the park to get into Fantasmic, we got there at 6.30 and after a short walk we entered the seating area and got seats right on the front row, definately a first for us, we normally sit for an hour plus and a still sat around midway up the seating area. The view was fantasic, a bit warm when the flames appear though.

After Fantasmic we left the park and headed back to the hotel, with the intention of seeing the Osborne lights another day, this turned out to be a bad move.

The weather is still excellent. No rain since the day we arrived. My two pair of shorts are going to be worn out at this rate. :rotfl2:

enjoying your reports
Thanks for sharing

We were really disappointed at the restricted menu at Mama Melrose as it was not like that the Hollywood Brown Derby. I think it is just here they do a restricted menu and I would not do the fantasmic package here again.

Thanks for a great trip report.

Susan

Another lovely day. I am really looking forward to seeing the Nemo musical.
