Day 15
DD favourite kind of day today, shopping
. After all we only have 4 more days left, so its off to the Premium Outlet Mall. Whenever we go here you can guarantee it is busy, no matter what time of day or night. We had tried once earlier in the week but couldn't even get into the car park.
DH wanted to get a new strap for his Tag watch. He went into the shop but came out empty handed as he was not willing to pay $225 for it. Why is it that when you get older you are not willing to spend money on yourself but the kids can have it? Usually it is me that will not spend on myself.
Then it was time for the usual ritual, shoe buying so off we all trot returning with various makes of trainers.
We called in at Perkins as it had now re-opened. There were a lot of people waiting but as we were only a party of 3 we were seated straight away. Couldnt fit in a dessert so we bought muffins to take out.
Over to DTD for a last visit so we could purchase the last of our gifts for the kids back home (nieces and nephews, All 7 of them. Not bad saying they were not getting gifts as we had left their xmas presents with their parents and they had gifts from our summer vacation), but DH is a real softy at heart.
I am just praying that we dont get stopped by customs. The sooner the allowance goes up the better. We go every year so you would think that we have most of the stuff, but there always appears to be something that we havent got. For me its usually a cross stitch, DD is some type of clothing and gadgets for DH
.
We made use of staying on Disney property for the first time and had the stuff delivered to our hotel. DH wanted to try out the service so he charged it to the room as well (I think really he didn't want to carry the bags around).
We then visited the Goofy Candy Co, where DD made her own sweet.
It was Three Marshmallows, dipped in Chocolate, coated half in M&M's and Half in Sprinkles and finished with a white choclate drizzle.
Then we walked round to Disneyquest. Although it was a little busier than previous visits it was still enjoyable. I found myself a seat whilst DD and DH went on Aladdin (dont do those types of rides) and was talking to a local lady. She was saying how unusual the weather was for the time of year and that they had had a really cold spell at the beginning of Dec. They had even had a small ammount of snow just North of Orlando
The next queue was for the Buzz Lightyear ride. We waited in line for about 10-15 mins but was entertained by the family behind us who were trying to teach their two boys how to walk as they got near the front of the queue. Their instructions were to walk on their tip toes but one of them forgot and needless to say he didnt get on the ride. The whole of the ride was then stopped because the mother insisted that the manager was called immediately as the boy wanted to ride with his father and brother.
After 5 mins, much to her disgust, the ride waited no more and off we went. As we came to get off the manager appeared and there was another heated debate as to why there was a height limit, health and safety issues etc. Needless to say she did not get her own way and stormed off. I feel sorry for the poor CM who orignially said that her son couldn't go on, as he explained if anything happened or if management saw him letting him on, he would be fired.
Back to the hotel about 8pm, then went for a stroll to get a coffee to have with a muffin for supper. We have sussed this out now that if we have a cold drink and drink it there we could refill with a hot drink and take it back to the room, that way we don't need to make the trek from the room to the Mara more than once.
I really wished that I had brought my pedometer with me as we must have covered so many miles both in the parks and at the hotel.
