Tasha, I know it's a lot easier said than done but don't be too hard on yourself about today. It's a whole new schedule for you to adjust to and like you said, that might take some time. Tomorrow is a brand new day and I really hope to see your cheat free bear return because he is SUPER cute! Do your best and you will be in the groove in no time! :)

I know how you feel, since I started this new position temporarily at work it's wreaking havoc on my workouts and eating. I'm having trouble getting the workouts in the past few days and it's not that I'm over eating I'm hardly eating at all and today it was grab something fast and choke it down on the way between class and work.

WW online has points values for common fast food places if you get in a pinch at work.

I agree, don't beat yourself up over your first day of your NEW job!! It's going to be a new routine...maybe you could get up early and get the exercise in:rolleyes: I know I'm not a morning person...didn't know if you were.

And now that you know you have a fridge and microwave, you can pack a lunch. Good luck!!!
 

Day 13

Thanks everyone for trying to cheer me up! And Gail, originally that is what I wanted to do--get up early to get the workout in. But I am definitely not a morning person at all and never have been. If you have ever noticed the time on some of my posts I tend to stay up all night occasionally. I am just now trying to get back into an earlier bedtime schedule. I got to sleep last night by 10:30 but that was b/c I was exhausted. I couldn't force myself to get up any earlier than 6 even if I wanted to. So exercising in the a.m. is definitely out for me. I will just have to try to get back into my evening workout routine.
Today went much better than yesterday. I stayed OP. I brought my lunch since I knew about the microwave and 'fridge this time. I have my adorable bear clippie back. One day cheat-free. I hope I can keep him past 9 days this time. Well, I have not worked out. I have a problem w/this job so far. It makes my back hurt really bad. I have back problems due to fainting and falling on my back (and nearly breaking it) when I was 12. The past two days have literally made my back ache. It completely kills any motivation for exercise. I am hoping that once I get used to this job that my back won't hurt anymore and then maybe I can get my workouts in again.
Today was a lot harder at work today. I grasped some things and others are going to take me a little longer. I don't think I will mind this job at all once I understand it better. I was a little frustrated earlier b/c it was confusing me. But I am getting it more after every hour. Hopefully all will go well there.
Funny thing happened last night. I had applied for a receptionist job I saw online...did this last week before I got the call for this job. Well, last night they called me and offered me an interview for the receptionist job. Turns out it is the same company I am already working for! I had to tell her no, that I was already working in the accounting dept. I don't know which job I would have liked more but I am sure that accounting pays more, and besides I don't think my boss would let me up and quit to take a new position w/the same company. I thought it was a funny, ironic twist. :crazy:

I am giving myself 5 sunnies even though I didn't workout, b/c I got right back on track after my rough day yesterday. I also can't exercise b/c my back is hurting so I am not skipping on purpose. :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:
 
That's great that you ate OP. The exercise will come.

I am a night owl too! To me, getting my exercise early means to have it done by noon!! Since I'm not working right now with school out, I'm up even later with my teenager..who is really outlasting me.

I figured you'd start getting calls for all kinds of jobs once you took one. That's the way it usually is.

You're doing great...glad to see the bear back!

Yippee! Mr. Bear is back!!! I'm so glad that you had a better day! I knew you could do it! ::yes:: Too funny about being offered the other job at the same company! LOL

I'm sorry that your back is bothering you. :( You can go to physical therapy with me tomorrow if you want to. :) I know how hard it is to exercise when you're in pain, especially when it's your back and you feel it with every little move that you make but I'm finding that the more I exercise the better my back is getting. Maybe you can try 5-10 minutes on the treadmill at a low speed until you get your stamina back up. You also might want to get one of those orthopedic back cushions for your work chair. :)

Good job eating on plan, I hope your back is feeling better soon! :)
 
Day 14

Well, there is not much to report today. I stayed OP. In fact, I had 5 pts. left over today. I did not get to work out again. I have literally been gone all day. I worked from 8 to 5, then I went grocery shopping and ran a few other errands. Then we came home and ate supper and now here I am. And when I get done w/WISH journals I am going to bed. I am hoping that if I don't get back on track either tomorrow or Fri. that the weekend will give me the time and energy to start working out again. I have been tired from this new job, I have also had an aching back. My back didn't hurt as much today as it did yesterday but it did still hurt. Maybe by next week I will be adjusted and it won't hurt anymore. I am starting to feel more comfortable w/this job although I am still confused on parts. I guess that is to be expected. I also had a surprise guest last night. Dear old TOM came for an early visit. He wasn't due until tomorrow but he arrived 2 days early anyway so that has made me feel a little lousy today. Well, I just realized that today makes 2 weeks of WISH journaling for me! I guess it is time to update my Minnie clippie. I am giving today 4 sunnies since I didn't exercise. :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

P.S. I am setting a goal next week to exercise 5 times that week. If I set the goal I am more likely to get back on track.
 
Maybe you need to get to the weekend to set up a schedule for exercising. Get this first week out of the way. As long as you are eating OP. Thanks for being so excited for my daughter. I think she was pretty excited.

You'll get back to excercising...I know it!! How's your husband doing on his?

Sorry to hear about your back and of course TOM....I'm expecting him in a few days.

Good idea to set those goals and like I said make a schedule...you may stick to it more. Kinda like meal planning:rolleyes:

I wouldn't worry about this week with the workouts. Like you said maybe you can get in some this weekend. It's so hard to get a schedule down when you start a new job. Believe me I'm just now figuring how to fit it all in (except for the water!) when I'm just too tired from work.

Thanks, Gail! Thanks Kellee! That is a good idea. I think I will try to make a reasonable schedule for next week. It may work out better that way. I guess we'll see. I am just not used to working anymore. I will get used to it soon and then I am sure everything else will just fall into place. I keep forgetting to take my measurements...I guess I will have to add that to my schedule for this weekend. :rolleyes:

I love that you set that goal for yourself and I don't know about you but when I put it on here I feel like I have to do it because I don't want to write on here that I didn't make it. It really helps!

I'm glad your back is feeling a little better, I hope it is completely well very soon.

Day 15

Well, today was another cheat-free day for me. I still have not worked out. I just don't feel I have had the energy all week. Like I said, I am not used to working anymore and it is wearing me out. I don't do anything physical really, but the mental challenge is stressful. I feel exhausted right now. My back is still hurting but seems to be feeling better every day. This week has flown by. I can't believe I have been at my job a whole week after tomorrow. I am not going to beat myself up if I don't exercise tonight or tomorrow night. I set the goal to start next week and I will. So, this week is a week that I am using to get used to my new situation. I figure that is okay. Besides, now that TOM has arrived, I feel even more tired. Scott has done well w/this program too. He has even exercised a couple nights this week, which is more than I can say. Of course, he is on vacation today and tomorrow which helps him some. He broke his diet too on the exact same day I did! His boss carried him out to lunch. I came home feeling bad about going to Harvey's and not ordering a salad and he said that made him feel a little better b/c he had broken his diet too. And trust me, I ate a lot better that day than he did. I did try to watch how much I ate that day. But other than that, we have both stayed OP. Tomorrow is my 2nd official weigh in day. I dread it b/c of TOM. But I will deal either way. Wish me luck!

I think I'll join you with 5 days of exercise next week. So far I only have 2 days in & I need to get back on track.
 
You just do not know how fabulous I think it is that you and your DH are doing this together. So many times you see the wife dieting alone so it's easier to go off OP.

Day 16

Okay, all I can say is that today has been fantastic! I weighed this morning and I have lost 2 lbs.! I also have met my Labor Day Challenge goal. But since it is so early I went ahead and decided to increase my goal from 7 lbs. (which I have met) to 12 lbs. (which I hope to meet). That was a really exciting moment for me though. I did feel really lousy this morning though b/c of cramps. I tried to eat breakfast but only managed half. Then at lunch I only managed a few bites. About 30 min. after lunch me and 3 of my co-workers left to attend a reception party for someone who was retiring. They had a bunch of finger foods there. I wasn't starving but felt I needed to eat something so I won't feel like binging when I feel better. I ate some fruit, crackers, cheese cubes, and this little round sandwhich thing. All in all, the whole meal did not cost me hardly any pts. And my flex pts. have started over for this week too. I had a good day at work too. I feel like it is getting a little easier every day. Although I will be training at something completely new next week so who knows how easy that will be?! But anyway, I stayed OP today. I have not exercised. I am not sure if I will tonight or not. I have felt bad due to these awful cramps. I am setting a goal for next week to exercise 5 nights. I will take 2 rest days. I am starting tomorrow since I will feel like exercising more on the weekend since I don't have to work. I will see how that goes. I also took my measurements for the 1st time. I wish I had done it sooner so I would know if I have lost any inches the past 2 weeks. I mean, I know I have, b/c I wore a pair of capris today that were starting to get tight and I had to keep pulling them up! Never thought I'd be happy to have my pants falling down at work like this! LOL! Anyway here are my measurements for this week (can not wait for those numbers to go WAY down):

waist= 41
bust= 42
hips= 48 & 1/4
thighs= 29
shoulders= 44
calves= 19
arms= 14
ankles= 10 & 1/4


I measure everything b/c that is the way they measured me when I did Physician's Weight Loss Center. I plan to post pictures when I figure out how to do it. Hey, Michelle, will you PM me and tell me how to do it? I am also going to post this in your journal, in case you don't read mine for a while. I really appreciate it!

Okay so my stats are:
242/235/150-160 (I tend to weigh more than I look like I do, so I feel pretty good between 150 and 160.)

I give today 5 sunnies even though I didn't exercise b/c it has been a fantastic day anyway, and I may still exercise later. If I do I will let you know in tomorrow's post.

Wow I can't believe you've already met your Labor Day Challenge goal.....a whole month early! I'm sure you'll be able to meet your 2nd goal as well, you've been doing great with all of cheat free days.

Don't worry 'bout not exercising - I took two days off for those bad first days of my TOM. 2-3 days a month I hate having a uterus. LOL.
