If you only had time to see Tarzan Rocks or Festival of the Lion King, which would it be and why?

I have seen neither and do not think i wil get a chance to see both.

Thanks:)

Festival of the Lion King!!!!!!

We saw both, and while Tarzan was 'OK' the FOTLK was just wonderful. The music, the singers, the costumes, everything. I think it is one of those 'intangibles' that you cannot really put into words. (until you see it that is).

So....Lion King gets my vote! (we saw it 3x as a family in January, and I saw it once again on a solo trip in April)

Most people prefer the Lion King. Note that the show will not be performed during parts of August and September while they are converting the theater into an indoor venue.

Lion King hands down. The FOTLK is one of Disney's best efforts, Beauty and the Beast level. Tarzan is fun but I would definetly choose the Lion King. Maybe with FASTPASS you could do both.
Have fun.

I like them both, but I would have to pick Lion King if you can only do one. It's an great show and lots of fun for the whole family. I really like Tarzan as well, but it can get pretty loud since there's a live rock band so young kids and some adults may not enjoy it as much. Also, if your trip is in the next few months, you may want to check if both shows are running. I know that after the Summer season, Lion King is going down for rehab for a while so that may also be a consideration if your trip is then.

Another vote for Lion King!!!!:)
It wins hands down!!!
IMHO......there really is no comparison between the two.
FOTLK...is an EXCELLENT show. Tarzan is a nice band playing the music from the movie.

Have fun!!

The Lion King show is excellent and one of my favorites. I liked Tarzan but found it to be much too loud when we saw it. I have not seen either show for several years so it might be time to check one out on one of our two trips we have planned for this year.

What is an "indoor vanue"?

Sorry about the typo, that should have been "venue". They are basically adding walls to the theater.

One more vote for Lion King.

I saw Tarzan in 1999 ans really didn't think much of it, but I headed straight over to see Lion King again as my first attraction in AK last year.

BOTH!!!
That is like saying should I have the meatloaf or the mashed potatoes! You need them both!

Lion King hands down. I LOVE this show. It's so entertaining and it really gets the kids and even adults involved in the action. This is always on my must do list. I do usually see Tarzan also but I enjoy Lion King alot more.

Lion King hands down. I didn't think Tarzan was that great. In fact haven't been back since the first time. Short of the monkey costumes I can get that at the local skate park!

hi, thanks for all the replies! we will do Lion King first and if we have time, then Tarzan.

We havn't seen the Tarzan film and so don't know any of the songs, but know most from the Lion King.

thanks:D

I say definitely the Lion King! I didn't think Tarzan rocked at all-lol. I enjoyed the roller bladers but not enough to go back to the show again. A lot of people on the boards seem to like it though.

Lion King...Lion King....I have seen this close to 100 times.....love it!!!!!If I was just 10 years younger I think I would try out for it.

:p :bounce: :p

I would say Tarzan. If you time it right you can see the 3:00ish show of Tarzan and then catch the 4ish Lion King. Again that all depends on when the Lion King is down for Refurb. But both are possible.

Well, during our last trip, we saw the first Lion King show of the day, then trotted off to see Tarzan. Maybe I wouldn't have been as disappointed if I had seen Tarzan first...
