Taryn and Andy's Honeymoon Extravaganza!! 11/9/-11/15 Trip Report Updated: 3/24/10

You guys seem like such a fun couple! I don't think I could ever get my DF to re-enact The Lady and the Tramp kiss.

Taryn:

I would love to have some of those special Disneymoon tips of yours! One small detail ---- we will be bringing my 12 year old DD with us!!! But I do intend on throwing some romance into it!

Hi Taryn!

You said you guys are near VA Beach right? I may be planning a trip down there (as soon as possible after my friend that lives down there contacts me). I'll let you know when I'll be in the area and maybe we could have a DIS meet!

Oh that Stitch is a naughty one!!! Love how he tried to steal you away and Lilo got jealous :lmao:

This pic is just too cute, I love how everyone clapped when you kissed :goodvibes

Looking forward to more.

Aww thanks! We managed to have some awesome Disney moments and I can't wait to share the rest!

It was actually mostly his idea! He secretly likes Lady and the Tramp and really wanted to eat here just so we could do this! But...I probably would have made him do it anyway:rotfl:

Hmmm, well I highly recommend the Hoop Dee Doo dinner show, it was on of DH's favorite things we did for sure and I think you, your new hubby and your DD will all love the show!!

Now if you can manage to do something without DD, I say swing over the POR and take a carriage ride. This truly was one of the most romantic things we did and we loved it.

Well, we actually live in Richmond so we are about 2 1/2 hours away from VA beach, but if you happen to coming through Richmond, lemme know :)

Great picture!

I love how Stitch tried to steal you away from Andy! :lmao:

We decided to just share a plate of Spaghetti and Meatballs, mostly because we wanted to recreate the famous Lady and the Tramp kiss!

So sweet! :lovestruc

I love the pictures you got of Spectro, and that you put the camera away and just enjoyed Wishes! :goodvibes

Enjoying your Trip Report, sounds like you had a nice time. I love the Lady and the Tramp Kiss, that was cute. I know I couldn't get my DH to re-enact that one! I really wanted to go there for our HM in 2003 but I couldn't convince him that it was a good HM destination. We did go a year later though and now he says all the time he regrets not going for our HM!

The Behind the Seeds looks like a fun tour, we hope to do that when we go next time (hopefully in the spring).

I love Wishes too much to view it through a camera, and I also wanted to watch my husband's reaction :cloud9:

It took some convincing to get DH to want to go there for the HM, and I really think he expected to not like it. As his wife, I knew differently. When will men learn that we are always right!

Totally do the Behind the Seeds tour. If you love the ride, you'll love the tour! We want to do it again in the future!

Day Four (11/12/09)

"Hoop De Doo! Hoop De Doo!"

Ok, I'm going to get all of this day in one post I think. This was our free do whatever we want day, so it was jammed packed but fun and relaxing all the same!

This day we ended up sleeping in till about 10:30 or 11:00. It was so nice since in the last few days we had not slept in with wedding stuff going on and then waking up early for our honeymoon extravaganza!! Now originally my beautiful chart said that we would try out Blizzard Beach but on this day we woke up and it was actually cold outside. Even though 50 degrees is not freezing, it is not what I call swimming weather either. So we decided (actually Andy made the suggestion, now he's getting into the spirit) to head down to Downtown Disney and check out more of the shops, maybe even get a little X-mas shopping done.

Since we were hungry right then, we decided to eat at POR and then catch the boat to Downtown Disney after. So here is what we ate at Riverside Mill:

I had chicken nuggets with fries and a sugar cookie:

DH had a chicken sandwich with fries and a sugar cookie:

And this is our mountain of pickles. I am obsessed with pickles. I love them!! The onions were for Andy's sandwich.

03HoneymoonDay4.jpg

After we were full, we walked outside to get on the boat and it was just too cold. I had not packed for cold weather and if you haven't noticed already, I'm a tiny person. One gust of wind and I'm an icicle! The boat had just left and I couldn't wait for another one and then the thought of being stuck on the boat in the cold did not seem appealing either. DH was sad cause he wanted to be on the boat, but I told him we'd do it another time! So off to the bus we went.

Once we arrived at Downtown Disney, DH had decided that he really wanted to get this jacket they had at House of Blues, so that was our first stop. At first he didn't want to get it anymore when he saw the price tag (I wanna say it was $69.99) but I demanded he get something he wanted. It was his honeymoon, he deserved to treat himself. When we got to the register it was on sale for $59.99! Wahoo! Not much, but hey, 10 bucks can be used for other things. I will say that was the best purchase we made because he wore it for the rest of our honeymoon and continued to wear it at home until it was finally too cold and he needed something heavier.

After HoB we decided to head to the Harley store to find something for his parents (they collect Harley stuff.) On the way I purchased some Hot Chocolate to warm me up! Yum! We ended up getting his step-dad a Harley Shirt and his mom a Harley dart board (she wanted a dart board for her newly re-decorated Entertainment Room) Before we left we had to take a picture of Andy on the Harley.

04HoneymoonDay4.jpg

After that we headed over to the World of Disney store! We took some pics outside, I got another Lego pic and then with the pirate.

05HoneymoonDay4.jpg

06HoneymoonDay4.jpg

We looked through the store for awhile, but I think it was overwhelming to have so much stuff around us. Especially for Andy. In the end, we purchased a Dooney and Bourke Disney wristlet for my mother. Then we headed over to the Team Mickey store where I purchased a jersey/sweatshirt thing for my dad. He loves those things, he wears them all over the house! (And he loves Disney) Then we checked out Tren-D and I bought myself a cute little necklace.

Then we went to the Pin store!! Oh my goodness, it was time to buy. I think Andy still doesn't get the whole pin obsession thing, so we weren't there a super long time, but I got some pins for myself and for my brother who also collects pins.

Now it was time to go to the Christmas Store!!! I really wanted a ornament that symbolized our wedding and honeymoon and also wanted to pick up some more Disney ornaments. In the end we found an ornament that said Our Honeymoon 2009 and had the Minnie Bridal ears and the Mickey Top Hat on top of it. We also got a pair of Mickey Ears embroidered with Andy's brother's name on them. (He asked us to get him some, which I found hilarious since he's a 27 year old tattoo artist COVERED in tattoos lol)

We had to wait a little bit before we could pick up the ears so I walked in to Goofy's Candy Co. to use a snack credit for the best snack ever. Here are some pictures of the CM making it:

It's 3 marshmallows dipped in milk chocolate, then sprinkles and drizzled with white chocolate.

After my treat we went into the Art of Disney store and explored. Everything was so pretty and if they weren't all so expensive I would buy some artwork in a heartbeat. Someday, but not today, especially since we'd have to ship it back. We picked up the mickey hat and then decided to go back to our resort so we could rest before our dinner show. We found a X-mas display first that I had to take pictures with.

13HoneymoonDay4.jpg

(More on next post)

Once we got back to the resort, we found another towel creation!! I can't believe how lucky we were to get these everyday, mousekeeping good job!

14HoneymoonDay4.jpg

I think we were scheduled for the 7:15 show so we took a nap for like an hour and a half before we got back up so we could head to the bus stop. We had to get there around 6:45, but for the life of me I can't remember the exact time we left the resort. I want to say we went to the bus stop at 5:45. I told Andy we would get on the first bus that arrived, Epcot, MK or DTD. DTD disney arrived first so we hit that bus. Then we got off and got back on the Fort Wilderness bus. Once we got there we had to get onto a Fort Wilderness bus that would take us to the Hoop De Doo.

All in all we pretty much arrived right on time, so I definitely say allow yourself an hour to get there if you are using Disney transportation. We checked in and were seated maybe 10 minutes before everything was scheduled to start. We got an awesome seat on the second floor in the dead center of the room. We could see anything and everything that went on! The gang came out and the show began. Waiting at our table was salad and cornbread. Andy got his all you drink beer started and I just got a coke:

After they preformed a few numbers, they took a break so we could get all our food and eat. They brought out BBQ ribs, baked beans, chicken, and mashed potatoes.

18HoneymoonDay4.jpg

19HoneymoonDay4.jpg

20HoneymoonDay4.jpg

21HoneymoonDay4.jpg

Before we finished eating, the crew came back out and performed some more numbers. At one point they went around finding all the people celebrating anniversaries or honeymoons. Of course one of the cast found us and made us stand. Then he took a picture for us.

22HoneymoonDay4.jpg

At some point they made everyone wave their napkin in the air. It looked really cool and the picture actually doesn't do it justice.

23HoneymoonDay4.jpg

24HoneymoonDay4.jpg

It was finally time for dessert and they brought out some amazing strawberry shortcake! Oh my gosh it was good.

25HoneymoonDay4.jpg

It was time for the final number so they brought out these washboards for every table and man did I go to town on this thing!!

Once the show was over, Andy and I were sad! We didn't want to leave. The food was awesome, the show was entertaining and kept us laughing all night long. My husband had plenty of beer! It was his favorite thing we did the whole trip and said he would come back in a heartbeat. A+ from us!

After the show I kept thinking of the long journey home but they actually had buses to take people back to their resorts waiting there for us! How nice that they can do that! I don't know if this happens in the busy season, but we appreciated it. We were the last to be squeezed on and the bus made like 3 other stops before ours. Once we got back we hit the bed and got some good sleep.

Ooh the food from the Hoop De Doo looks yumma and that shortcake looks to die for!

Sounds like you got alot done at DTD, liking the sound of the honeymoon ornament you got :) and that Goofy's Candy Co snack looks sugarific :)

I'm so glad you both enjoyed Hoop-De-Doo show! It is so much fun - I remember when we went (our only time) back in 1997 on our 10-day 12-family member trip and most everybody had a blast. I have a pic of my DS27 (who was 15 at the time) looking SO bored because he hated the whole "family" getting together for dinner plus he was pulled away from Epcot, his fav park. I won't even try to suggest we go to this on our trip this year (altho my youngest 2 sons haven't visited WDW yet so I may suggest it for just them - my 22 yr old is always up for fun!)

Loved the pic of Andy on the Harley! and your pics with the snow scenes are so cute - what an adorable couple you are :lovestruc

Man, everything on this trip food wise was just awesome. But I swear we didn't eat for like a week afterward!

Oh you should totally go again! I hadn't done it since I was like 5 and DH had never been at all so we had no idea what to expect and we were just so impressed with the whole thing. It was so much fun, really!

And thank you! :flower3:

Love the plate of pickles! :rotfl2:

You got a lot of shopping done at DTD! :thumbsup2 Do we get to see a picture of your honeymoon ornament?

The HDDR sounds so fun, and the food looks wonderful. I want to try that sometime!

Day Five (11/13/09)

"See? You didn't die!"

Oh man, we are now past the half way point of our trip, which means we are getting closer to the end.:sad1: Ah well, this day we were going to MGM which I kinda figured Andy would like the best, but when I ask him which park is his favorite he just always says he liked all of them. I think it's too early for him to have a favorite.

We woke up early enough to try and make it to rope drop, but that never quite happened whenever we tried. We did have a lady on the bus that told me I looked just like Ariel, and that I was much better than the one she and her daughter saw at their Princess breakfast. Sigh, if only I could make a serious living being Ariel! Once we got there we caught a glimpse of the Christmas tree and we also stopped to get our pictures taken.

Once we had our pictures taken I knew we had to make some tracks and get over to Toy Story Mania before the line got too long. By the time we got over there the line was at around 25 or 30 minutes. I knew it was now or never for the stand by because it would only get worse so we got into the line. We were lucky enough to have the Army Men interact with us while we were waiting! The Army Men said "Just been married, son?" and when Andy said yes he then said "Good, now you can take orders just like me!" :rotfl:

02HoneymoonDay5.jpg

03HoneymoonDay5.jpg

04HoneymoonDay5.jpg

After that I took some pictures while we waited in the line:

Even though I beat Andy at Buzz, he beat me at TSM. Even though I declared I would beat him next time, you will see later that was not the case.
10HoneymoonDay5.jpg

We knew we wanted to ride again so after we got off we grabbed FP's which weren't good until 1:40pm  Glad we got them then! I didn't mind waiting until later, because we didn't have to wait in the FP line to get them. After we finished with Pixar Place I wanted to knock out the other two popular rides in the park. Now before this day, I figured I would be doing Tower of Terror and Rockin' Roller Coaster by myself, but Andy surprisingly agreed that he MIGHT try Tower of Terror. I figured I'd take one instead of the other. On our way we took some more photos:

93HoneymoonDay5.jpg

Andy wanted to smoke and the smoking section was actually down near the exit of the ToT gift shop, so I decided I would send him over there and I would go jump in the single rider line at RnRc. AHH I love that ride, it is just so fun. I really think he would love it, but I'll try to get him on it next time! Once I finished, I ran back over and we got in line for ToT.

14HoneymoonDay5.jpg

15HoneymoonDay5.jpg

16HoneymoonDay5.jpg

Even though Andy was so nervous, he did it! I was so proud of him. I think he still was scared, he said he didn't hate it and he was glad that he tried it! Right when we got back to the bottom I looked at him and said "See? You didn't die!" Haha, I'm such a good wife. After getting off ToT we headed back toward the direction of the Great Movie Ride. Andy took a pretty shot of the Stars hanging and then we took a picture with Stitch! Andy was still mad at him though for trying to steal me:

17HoneymoonDay5.jpg

95HoneymoonDay5.jpg

97HoneymoonDay5.jpg

Funny story when we got to Great Movie Ride. Most people know that the line usually starts on the side of the building or at least it does during the busy season. I have never gone in any other way. This time, we were going through the front doors and basically bypassing a majority of the line. As we were walking up to the doors, a woman with her group in front of us stops, looks at the "line" and says "Oh no, we are not doing this, this is an hour long wait, I KNOW!" And she ushers them off somewhere else. I looked at Andy and said she was full of crap. Know how long we waited? Not even 10 minutes. I didn't even get to watch all of the trailers in the movie room!

(I'll post a picture of the Mary Poppin's horse next time I update, I reached my photo limit and I don't want to make another post)

Well, I think that is enough for now. DH just brought home dinner and I'm hungry!!! More updates later!

Love the Army Men comment :rotfl: What was Andy's reaction to that?

Loving the pics and that star pic is really cool. Andy does not look impressed in the ToT ride pic, bless :rotfl:

Oh he thought it was hilarious! He likes to tell that story to people. And on ToT, I think his eyes are closed in that picture and that's why he looks so uninterested. He was just trying to make it to the end of the ride :lmao:

ahhhh what a fun honeymoon! thanks for posting these. I can't wait!

Glad you're enjoying! Thanks for joining in!:wizard:

Hey Taryn - I fell behind a bit, but am caught up now! I am so glad you got Andy to ride ToT, never ridden it myself, but maybe someday...

Aww you totally should, I rode it 4 times in one day once!! I don't know if I ever mentioned it before, but I hope your X-mas trip went well! Can we expect a trip report? ;)

Oh that ornament is gorgeous, those ears are just too cute.

Lol, well the main thing is he tried it out and wasn't too averse to it.
