I thought this was a good deal in Target's Sunday flyer--$175 for a 9 inch color TV/VCR with AC/DC power. The deal included "free" coupons for the TV bag ($49 value) and a Disney VHS tape (limited selection...I got "102 Dalmations").
I purchased this one and the TV brand name is "Sansui". Is anyone familiar with this brand name? It appears to operate just fine.
I've been wanting to get a AC/DC TV VCR for driving to Disney & vacations because we have so many VHS tapes. We have been purchasing only DVDs for any new movie purchases and planned on waiting to get a DVD player...but, this seemed like too good of a deal to pass up! We are driving to Hilton Head for Thanksgiving week and I think this TV is going to be a hit with the kids.
Did others out there get this deal and what do you think of it?
I hope you can get this deal if you are interested!

I got the same tv from target yesterday. DH put everything in the bag, ready to go, we are using a Ford Econ. 12 pass. van for our trip on friday. My friend has a caravan and said the tv and bag would not fit between to the two front seats. She has to leave it on the seat next to dd, and strap it in? we wont know to the van gets here friday. 102 dal was sold out, i got spy kids, they said i could exchange it. My kids are 17-20 but love disney.

I just bought it tonight!

I checked other prices and this was the best--especially with the free TV bag

Our TV/VCR fit after we disassembled part of the bottom of our seat:eek: Make sure you really secure that thing in. If there were an accident, you wouldn't want that flying anywhere. Have a great trip!

Can you just buy the bag??? I already have a tv, I just need a bag for it! Anyone know??? I'm headed to Target tomorrow!

Not all Targets carry the bag. I've looked at 2 Targets down here and was told they're discontinued. I bought one from www.jcwhitney.com (also $50 plus $10 shipping) only to find my TV isn't a 9 inch like dh said it was.

How does this fit between the front seats when there is no console to set it on? Does it just "hang" from the straps? (We have a Pontiac Transport).

We were looking at portable DVD players for our upcoming trip but decided they were still too expensive (in two years they will probably be the same price as the 9" TVs are now). I thought we would do without the TV in the car again on this trip when I saw the Target flyer on Sunday. Went to Target Monday morning and just about every cart I saw had one in it (glad I didn't wait until the end of the week). The picture is very good and the sound is o.k. (only one speaker). I will probably buy headphones for the kids to use in the car. I haven't put it in the car yet so I hope it fits.

I thought this was a great price especially since I can use it in my kitchen when we are not traveling. Also, if you open a Target charge you can save an additional 10%.

I haven't been able to check & see how well it fits in the car.

It's a Christmas present for my DS.

We have a 8 inch TV without VCR and it fits very easily(almost too little), so I'm hoping it'll be ok.

My kids are going to use headphones, too:D

We may be safely securing the TV behind the driver's seat (we have a Ford Windstar) as I want to have access to the kids through the middle of the two front seats;) :D. Also, we may be taking out the middle seat to make room for all the stuff we will be bringing with a 2-month-old, 3 and 5 year old!
Lisa3, we too, have been looking at the DVD players and were going to wait until the price came down! Yes, this is a great price and can continue to use all those VHS tapes we have!
Great ideas--I think I will use this TV in the kitchen when not travelling.
Also, using headphones is a good idea--hope my little kids will use them!
:D :D

The bag does hang between the seats, but it has thick straps and the bag made by Steelhorse also had plastic. It looked like the support would be sufficient. Too bad our TV is too big.

Just a quick piece of advice about headphones for these. Most headphones are stereo, and these TV's are mono. Make sure you go to RadioShack and pick up a mono to stereo adapter for the headphones, otherwise sound will only come out of one side. We learned this the hard way. We have the mono adapter plugged into the tv then a splitter plugged into that, so both kids get sound in both ears LOL.

That deal at Target is a great deal. We already have a 9" TV, though. Almost bought 1 anyway as a backup or whatever just cuz it was a good deal! :) But what we do with the TV...we have a Caravan. It fits on the floor between the 2 front seats and then I put something underneath the front to tilt it up a little. The kids kinda look down at it, but it's worked out really well so far.
