Target/wal-mart between Sanford and POR

We are flying into Sanford, renting a car, and spending a few days at POR before our cruise. What's the nearest Target or Wal-Mart to get sunscreen, water, breakfast stuff, etc. in between the airport and resort? And someplace with lunch options would be a bonus, esp if near a Steak'n'Shake!!!

I just checked Google Maps....seems there is a Target in Hunters Creek, on 2155 Town Center Blvd. It's on 441 off 417. Looks like there is a Steak 'n Shake up the street.

We used Tiffany Towncar when we flew into Sanford. The driver insisted that our grocery stop had to be at a store which was convenient for her. She refused to go to a store near our hotel (Animal Kingdom Villas) because it would have meant driving out of her way (and presumably would have taken more time).

I think she took us to this Publix: Lake Mary Collection, 4195 W Lake Mary Blvd, Lake Mary, FL, 32746-2410.

There was a Target in the same shopping plaza: 4155 W. Lake Mary Blvd., Lake Mary FL 32746

However, from the time we left the grocery store, it took us an hour to get to the hotel. Not great if you wanted to buy perishable groceries.

My advice is to ask for advice finding a Target or Walmart near your hotel, not necessarily one which is directly on the road from the Sanford airport.

There is a Target and a couple of Walmarts in Sanford. One Walmart is only 3-4 miles from the airport, just off Lake Mary Boulevard, this is usually our first stop after leaving SFB to stock up on snacks and bevies. We usually pick up one of those cheap styrofoam coolers and some ice to keep our perishables cool and it's great for keeping drinks and snacks in the car when we are "out and about".

If you prefer to wait to get closer to WDW, you will pass several on the way, most just off the highway.

Thanks all! No perishables on the shopping list this trip since it's so short. But if you have ever traveled with teen boys, you know they require snacks and more snacks.
