Target spend $75 Saturday get 20% off next visit

Anyone get theirs yet?
I just stocked up at Target yesterday, so I'm just planning to buy Disney gift cards and I wanted to confirm that will earn my 20% off coupon.

Target experts: how can I use my red card for 5% off my purchase but use the gc from BF to pay? Is this possible instore? Thank you

I just bought two Disney Cards for xmas presents this morning using my redcard and received the 20% off coupon for instore purchases starting tomorrow. I have somethings I need to get and will be going back in the morning. The coupon does list some things not included and Entertainment and gift cards are not eligible :sad1:

Exactly. I am planning on buying groceries.

News to me. I do it constantly. In fact, my $300 BF gift card was purchased with a $270 Target gift card I purchased at Kroger to get 4x fuel points.

That won't be possible in store. You will only get the 5% on any amount you put on your red card.

The only way people are getting 5% discount with gift cards online is to "act" like they are about to pay with a red card. It knocks the total due down. And then they go back and change form of payment to gift cards.

You might say it's a "glitch" that happens online. The in store registers are not affected by this glitch.

Just bought $115 of target gift cards for teacher and coach gifts. Got the coupon. Used a target gift card to pay.

Thank you. You confirmed what I thought!

this answers what i was gonna ask. Too bad, the exclusions on the online ad only say gift cards and since disney gift cards are considered entertainment cards i was hoping they'd work. Oh well.

I just got home from Target and wanted to report my experience. I had two transactions because I was using two forms of payment. The first transaction was a $95 Target gift card (reload) that I paid for with my PayPal debit card. That card is directly linked to my vacation account and since I don't receive a discount on the Target gift cards anyways, it's easier to take the money straight from the source. I will use the gift card to buy a $100 SWA e-gift card online for $95, with my RedCard set as the default payment.

As the cashier began to ring up my second order (groceries and a $50 SWA gift card), I asked about the 20% off coupon. She smiled and told me that I "knew the code word", making it seem like the coupon is NOT automatic and you have to ask for it. She paused and tore a coupon off the tear pad and handed it to me and then continued to ring up my second order. I paid for the second order with my Red Card and when she handed me my receipt, she said, "And you get another 20% coupon for this order too". I was surprised, and suddenly felt a little guilty:guilty:...I certainly wasn't trying to get two coupons. I only need one and I really don't have specific plans for that one:lmao:

I just thought that I would let everyone know that they MIGHT have to ASK for or mention the coupon in order to get it. I'm not sure if I was supposed to get two coupons for the two separate transactions, but I did and I am not complaining.

That's weird. At my Target they had a big sign as you entered indicating you would get a coupon if you spent $75. So no secret there.

Agreed! There was no reason for the cashier to wait for a customer to ask for the coupon.

Target is a mess. Such poorly trained associates--I don't think it's their fault. Seems like a management problem.

My store had a sign up when you walked in.

Yep, I went to two stores today, both had great big signs with balloons tied to them inside the front door.

There was a sign at my store too, but I also had ask for the coupon. I spent $113. I'm wondering if it's because I bought $50 of entertainment cards. The cashier said that normally the register was prompting her to give the coupon. Several people ahead of me asked for the coupon and were denied because their totals did not meet the $75 minimum.

There was a sign in the front of our Target as well. We just hit the $75 Mark with our groceries and the associate handed us the coupon & explained what it was, no problems at all, didn't have to ask for it.

when you use the 20% off coupon do you still get the 5% red card discount too?

Yes. I bought a Go Pro Camera, some groceries and two SD cards. My total before the coupon was $249 (including taxes I think around $235 before taxes). They took 20% of that which brought my total down by $46.62, they then applied cartwheel and then they applied my manufacturers and target grocery coupons. Then they applied my target gift cards ($40.18) and then they applied my red card discount. I think in all I saved a little over $107 in taxes and discounts - I'm counting the gift cards as a discount because they were all buy x & y get $5 gift cards. :cool1:

I was surprised to find that the 20% came off before all the coupons and cartwheel.

As PP said, yes! DH was convinced they weren't going to let us use my red card discount when we went to use the 20% off coupon. Even the associate was surprised. I was surprised at both of them for not thinking it was going to work!

Went to use my coupon today and I dropped it some where in the store when I was pulling my phone out to look at the cartwheel. I mentioned it to the cashier that I dropped it and she looked around in her drawers for one to use and couldn't find one :( I put some big items back in hopes I'd find my coupon in the care, but nothing. If anyone has an extra they don't plan to use I'd use it!
