I just saw this at the end of a target commercial. I'm not sure of the details. Just wanted to give us target shoppers a heads up.

I wonder if you can buy a $75 gift card to get the coupon. I know the coupon won't work on gift cards (or apple, etc.)

It worked last year when they did this promo for Black Friday. That's what I plan on doing!

Edit: Actually, I forgot I bought something last year. I still plan on trying gift cards. I know I'll spend at least $75 once that coupon goes live anyway, so they won't go to waste.

Has anyone seen the exclusions on the coupon? I need to get oldest DS a gopro camera and if I can save 25% I'll be able to get him some accessories to go with it.

I saw them on slickdeals. It excludes apple products, all gift cards, and play stations I think.

It's a very mysterious/not well publicized deal. I'm slightly skeptical:)

I found it on their website. Go to Weekly Ads, then scroll down. Click the link for details. The details are there but unfortunately, not very readable. It does say that it excludes gift cards and that the coupon is not valid online. I can't real all of the details though it's just not that legible on my computer screen as the print is really really really tiny, and light grey I'm old and blind ;) .

Found the exclusions!

"*Your $75 purchase must be made in a single transaction in stores on 12/6/2014 between store open and store close. The $75 qualifier purchase will be calculated after other discounts. Percent off coupon will apply to all qualifying transactions. Excludes all gift cards, online gaming cards, airtime, iTunes, entertainment and prepaid cards, Nespresso, Vitamix, DSLR cameras and lenses, Nikon P530 camera, Apple, Bose, Playstation 4 console, Xbox One Console, Hotwheels RC toys, Fisher Price Imaginext toys, Printer ink, alcohol, diabetic glucometers and lancets, Pseudoephedrine products where prohibited by law, prescriptions, Clinic, Optical, Portraits studio and Target Mobile purchases. NO other same department/category coupon will apply. Coupon for use by original recipient only. Void if copied, scanned, altered, transferred, purchased, sold or prohibited by law. Items(s) may not be available in all stores. Not valid in Canada. No cash value." ~As printed on screenshot

I'm excited because gopro is not excluded. I can easily spend $75 on groceries tomorrow.

I'm going to try to use my $300 bf gift card to buy a $75 target gift card.

I am not ready to grocery shop tomorrow, so I will probably just go buy a gift card, or maybe go twice and buy two :-)
then I will use it to grocery shop on Sunday and pay with the gift card :-)

I don't understand the gift card wording...can I buy a gift card(say a disney one) for 75.00,and I will then get a coupon from that purchase?or is the gc purchase NOT going to get me the next 20% off? or when it says exclusions, it means only when using the 20% off to purchase something later?

I believe the exclusions are for the 20% off. The first section discusses what doesn't count toward the $75 qualifier.

I'm hoping to take my $300 BF gift card and buy a $75 Target gift card. I'm not certain that will work, but I will see : )

You can't buy a target gift card with a target gift card. The register will not allow it. You can buy just about any other gift card, though.

I don't see anywhere about the expiration of the 20% off coupon. So, could I buy $100 worth of Disney gift cards with the Red 5% discount and use the coupon in 3 weeks, to purchase our groceries for our 3 week stay in Orlando at an off site timeshare, Orange Lake (which has a Super Target nearby).

The details say that it is good for "One Shopping Trip Dec. 7 to 13."

Is it different online? Because I used a current Target giftcard to buy the 10% card on blackfriday, online.

Yes. You. Can. I've worked at Target for 8 years, and cashier frequently. you can most certainly buy a Target gift card by using a Target gift card as a form of payment. In fact we do it pretty often. Folks will have $5 gift cards from purchases and ask to combine them into a larger, prettier gift card as a gift. Happens all the time.

I am unsure if purchasing $75 in gift cards will create a 20% off coupon. It's worth a shot to try!
