Target Skippy Peanut Butter Deal

I found the Skippy for $1.52/jar. I had 4 coupons & got 4 jars no problem. I need to check on the Smuckers & get more PB & jelly to go with it. Even better if I can use it on the Smuckers PB&J. DS is always asking for that stuff.

Got it! Thanks OP!

My store had the cheapest Skippy PB for $2.59 (not so great). But they did have the Goober Grape and Goober Strawberry, both for $2.19. I bought 3 of each flavor for a grand total of $7.14:cool1:

They also had TONS, and I mean TONS of the specially packaged "wholesale lot" items for an additional 15% off, which is awesome because the "bundled" price is low as is. GREAT deals!!

Head to Target!!

I had problems at my local target. They actually called security to make sure my coupons were legit then made me do more than one order as they would only use one coupon on an item per transaction, obviously not what the coupons say. Then 1 coupon wouldn't scan and they said they couldn't override that - if it didn't scan, too bad. There were 3 checkout clerks and 1 security guard - all for pb & classico sauce, plus a few other non-coupon items. There was a line behind me and I was incredibly embarrassed. The security guard apologized and said it was because there were so many fraudulent coupons out there.

How exactly did they "make sure your coupons were legit"?? Did the security guard do something to them (like look at them with a special light, etc)???

That's totally ridiculous! Seriously how can security tell if they are legit? They just had them come over to intimidate you! It makes me so mad I'm not even going to shop there. Well on second thought thats a really good price for PB and we eat a lot of it. I'll just have to put on my stern face and take my chances!

I almost said forget it and left groceries then I came to my senses and realized that it was an intimidation method hoping I'd give in or up. I made them do three transactions as I had 3 coupons/jars of pb though at first they told me I could only buy one item (even though as I pointed out repeatedly, it says one per item not one per transaction!). I did give up on the simply harvest .50 coupon that wouldn't scan but didn't buy the product out of principle. I've been contemplating calling the store manager or writing a letter to the corporate office but haven't done anything yet.

Ok - after continuing to stew about this, I just called the store and talked to the manager who apologized, said it was up to the individual discretion of each target store as to how many coupons they accept on one order but their store policy was up to 5 coupons so the whole fuss wasn't warrented at all. He's also sending me a gift card to make up for the incident and said it would be addressed in a store meeting.

Target needs to do a better job with the language on these coupons if they allow stores individual discretion!

I hope they have a good training session at this meeting! I mean, I am sure the only thing the security guard did was look at the coupon to make sure it wasn't one of the $5 off any $25 purchase coupons. Why couldn't the cashier have done that?

Anyone know if the Skippy is still on sale? The coupons expire on Saturday & I was going to stock up if it was.
