Does the 5% only apply to what is actually charged to the card or to your entire purchase? So, if you are paying in part with a Target gift card(s) does the 5% come off only the amount charged to the red card or the whole purchase?

Thanks!

That is definitely what happens in the store, but other DIS-ers have reported that when buying Disney giftcards online at Target.com, they get the whole 5% off, then enter a Target giftcard as partial payment and the discount stays the same. I haven't personally tried it yet.

This is exactly how it worked for me when I purchased a Disney GC online 8/25/13.
I used a $25 Target GC and paid a total OOP cost of $22.50 for a $50 Disney GC.

I was also able to order a Disney gift card online and used Target gift cards to pay for it. However, mine worked a little differently.

I used my points from my credit card to redeem 2 $25 Target egift cards. I then put a $50 Disney gift card in my cart. The system automatically adds the $1.95 for shipping to the total of the gift card, so I used my 2 $25 egift cards and then entered my red card for the remainder. Going this route brought my total for the gift card down to $47.50 and all of it was charged to my egift cards! So, I essentially didn't pay anything for the Disney gift card because I used my points to "purchase" the egift cards. We only use the credit card for necessities, so it was money that was going to be spent anyway. :)

Someone on another thread said that her Disney gift cards from Target.com weren't activated when she received them Has anyone else had this problem?

Well, I guess I'll answer my own question.Yes, it does happen. I just found out that 1 of the 40+ Disney gift cards I bought from Target.com has not been activated.
