Target red card limit

How much in disney gift cards can we purchase per day?

I would think up to your credit limit. I did $2450 and about $100 in general merchadise at 8:45 pm one day. Called and booked a cruise 40 min later and every gift card was active.

Okay, I have to ask are Target's gift cards to Disney less than $$$ value?

No. A $50 gift card is worth $50 to Disney. But if you a coupon or your redcard you will pay less than $50 and it is still worth $50 to Disney. (so with the card you pay $47.50 and get a $50 credit for Disney)

You can spend up to your credit limit on the card. For example's sake lets say your credit is $100 - your total (AFTER the 5% discount is applied) has to come to $100 or less.

I called Target today to ask if there was a limit. I have my Redcard and just got my pharmacy 5% off card, so I'm ready to go get enough gift cards to pay for our trip. According to the man I spoke with, just so you have the money in your checking, you can spend any amount. Hoping that's correct!

Thanks! I was told the same okay but I thought I read on here that we could only do a certain amount per day. Thanks every one!

We had to get the discount for the red card done manually the red card would only allow around 1000 dollars. The Target manager was super nice though and said her next trip she was gonna do the same thing to save the almost 10% with stacking the red card and pharm coupon. Plus she will get another 10% off employee discount.;)

I don't think that's true. Imagine someone getting a hold of your RedCard and wiping out your checking account! :scared1:

I recall seeing previous posts where people were limited as to the amount that they could spend in a single transaction. The managers permitted them to use their discount(s) on additional GC purchases but using another form of payment. They have to "force" the discount through but it can be done. It just requires more authority than the average cashier has.

We went last week and it did not work, the red card does have a limit. The manager had to manually take the discount off, we used it for the purchase of the first 800 dollars. Then the remaining 3400 were discounted manually. It took about 30 minutes but was worth the 420 in savings.

No manager needed for my $2450 that I mentioned above. Used the Red Card 5% plus the Pharmacy Rewards 5% plus a $10 off 50 coupon. Mine is a credit red card, not a debit one. Maybe that is the diff.

I believe the red card limit is around 500$ but perhaps like a bank you can adjust it.

Do you know if the cast member making my reservation that has to be paid off in the same call will mind me using 20 $50 gift cards?

Yes the credit card is completely different, we have the debit that pulls our money from our checking.

The cast member we had was super nice and said a few weeks back he had someone call with 25 dollar cards to pay for a cruise. They get paid all the same either way.:rotfl:

There's definitely a difference between the debit cards and credit cards. Your credit card daily limit is as high as your line of credit will permit. And often you can ask to have your credit limit raised, right at the point of sale.

But debit cards have a limit and that limit will depend on your bank.

You don't get your 5% discount on GC's. it's cash, they don't discount that.

You don't get 5% discount on Target gift cards but you definitely get the 5% on Disney gift cards as well as other gift cards they sell!

No, you don't get 5% off of Target GCs. But you DO get 5% off on the "entertainment" GCs. It's been done enough times by enough people (myself included) to prove that you do.
