I went to Target tonight and bought an item for which I had two coupons 1) a coupon that printed from the cash register the last time I was there - what I would refer to as a "Target coupon" 2) a manufacturer coupon that I cut out of Sunday's paper.
When the cashier scanned the "Target coupon", the screen said, "Check to make sure item is in cart", or something to that affect. The cashier looked at the coupon and said, "This is a manufacturer coupon. You can't use 2 manufacturer coupons." I didn't say anything because I was in a hurry, otherwise I would have asked if it is not considered a "Target coupon" or I would have stopped at the Customer Service desk and asked the manager. I have to admit, I've never really looked closely at the top of the "Target coupon" to see whether they've always said, "Manufacturer Coupon" or if this is new. I've never had a "Target coupon" denied so I don't think that they haven't said "Manufacturer Coupon" in the past.
So...did I get a new cashier who may not understand the coupon policy (combining 1 manufacturer coupon and 1 Target coupon) or did Target change their coupons and/or policy?
