Target has a portable DVD player on clearance 75% off

Here's what I found today:

Eddie Bauer 7" LCD Detachable Monitor and DVD Mobile Video System Model #ME25 regularly $399 for $99. DCP #008 01 0015 (for those who don't know, you can punch this number into the self-scanners throughout the store and it will tell you if that store has any in stock. Customer service can also use this number to check and see if other stores in the area have them in stock). I found it locked up in the display case, but it was clearly marked $99 (if it's marked higher, have them scan it for you).

They also had a 5" model on clearance, but it was only 50% off ($125 reg. $250). Additional 5" monitors were $99 (reg. $199). I might try to pick up another monitor if they make it to 75% off.

Just wanted to share since I know alot of us budget folks make long drives to Disney. Can't wait to use this on our next trip!

Well no luck for me! I called my local Target stores and both of them are sold out Darn! My youngest wanted one and it would have been a good gift!

I got the same deal, they had the 5" screens for $124 but had the 7" screen way in the back of the locked up case at Gunbarrell Rd. I said can I see that one it has a 7" screen BOY was I excited when I saw it was only $99.95!!!!!

OK kfeuer, you are my absolute HERO!!!!

I wanted to buy one of these for my flight so bad but didn't want to put out the $$$. (I'm a petrified flier and thought this might help) I got the 7" (last one) for $99 and the headphones for $7.50 each, last two.

and not every target has the same price the same week...we have 2 targets and these are only 75% off at one not the other.

Th one that had 75% off here did not have any headphones so I bought them at 30% off at the other store.

Well the 7 inches are $199 at our store so I bought the 5 inch one at $99. Thursday they should mark down again so I will check back and may wind up exchanging the 5 for a 7. Going to head to one across town today to see if the prices are any better!

I called my local Target and to my surprise they had 5 of them ....... Or so I was told. When I get there after 25 minute drive in the rain with 2 kids, they are the 5" Eddie Bauer DVD players. I was so upset !!! I asked for the manager of the store. I had told him that I was upset about being lead a stray.

Then...... Wow Guess what he came back in 7 minutes with 2 of them. Told me that he had purchased them himself, but had returned them so I could buy them.

Boy was I happy

Question though..... do I have to buy the Eddie Bauer earphones or can I just get a comparable pair????

Wow that was really great of him to do! I don't know for sure, but I would assume that it was just a standard headphone jack

I missed it at the Target next to my job. They had the 5" for $124, but I didn't want to pay that much if I could find a bigger one at a lower price. Or could be that my area hasn't marked down that far yet.

In my experience, when things get marked down that much the store employees buy them up (as with the manager in a previous post). I was able to get this DVD player because I found one in the back of the case and when the guy rang it up he wondered "how the others missed it". I guess that's one of the perks you get when working at Target but the rest of us want deals too

My local Target has ONE left and I know I won't make it there before Friday. What's even worse is that my DH says "no" we can't afford it right now and probably won't use it enough to justify. Hmmph!

Thanks for posting this! My Target didn't have any of the 7" versions either but while looking for it I found a 17" LCD Flat TV just like DH has been looking for at 50% off. Boy was he surprised when I brought it home since I'm the one that kept saying we couldn't afford it.

For all those watching the 5" units, the next markdown (75% off according to the Target employees I talked to) is Monday, May 2, 2005. I'm not 100% sure, but it may be worth a look for those in the neighborhood of a Target.
