Target - any price guarantee?

Does anyone know if Target offers a price guarantee/price match program?

For example, if I were to buy a portable DVD player there and saw it at another store within a week or so, would they honor the other stores price and refund my money?

I was there once and the lady in line was throwing a fit about this very thing so unless that particular employee was mistaken, they do not.

Last time I was in the customer service line, the lady in front of me was there to find out about price matching. The folks at our Target told her no as well.

Darn. I have gift cards for Target, so I can't justify getting it somewhere else. We'll still have to pay about $50 or so OOP, but that's better than paying for it OOP completely.

We're looking at the Sony DVPFX810 - I've read some excellent reviews on it in general -(as opposed to the ones that seem to have every other review saying they died after being used a few times) - and it is supposed to have a killer battery (average 5 hour use). I also really like the swivel feature and that it can fold back on itself to save space if needed (good for hanging from a car seat). It's running about $25 less at other stores - like Circuit City.

But the question is WHEN? In time for our trip? I'm a huge planner - don't like to leave things till the last minute - because then they will be sold out of what we wanted and I'll have to go without or get an item/brand I didn't really want.

BTW - Adorable beagle! I'm a beagle person too - DH, not so much. He hates her bark/bay.

We have that DVD player - bought it at Circuit City - and we love it. My husband brings it to work with him on overnight shifts and the kids use it hooked to my bedroom tv all the time. It slips right into my carryon bag.

The last time I asked at Target about price matching was in regard to an item that Target had priced differently at another Target store. They don't even price match between their own stores - let alone a competitor.

No, they don't price match, but they do give you a price adjustment if your item goes on sale within 14 days of purchase.

I would watch for sales and buy it as close to your trip as possible and then watch the 2 weeks after that.
