Target 5% off Disney Giftcards no longer offered?

The best I am figuring out is this:
Buy Target gift cards through Raise 5.5-6% is what is find (best with a rewards visa, or other card). Then if you don't have an ebates account, get one. Log into ebates (you get this cash back quarterly). Link to Targets website through ebates. Buy the gift cards with the cards you bought on Raise.com. Today I bought $200 worth and after all my discounts I saved 8.5% (but I only got the 5.5% at Raise today). Of course the cash back on my credit card and ebates I have to wait for but it is still a savings.

If someone else has a better way to do it, PLEASE let me know!!

The only thing different I do is go thru topcashback.com to get cash back from my raise purchases. http://www.topcashback.com/ref/satin36

It saves on top of Disney Discount prices. So if I book my resort with an Annual Passholders discount of 25% off and the total is $500 I pay $500 with my GC that I only paid say $450 for. Typically our vacations are 6-10k so the savings is huge by using the gift cards. The added bonus of the $20 per $1000 in the DVA is great too. I use all kinds of methods to save money on giftcards and am currently at 32% off. Since January I have bought $925 in GC for $625.78 OOP.
What is the bonus for the DVA? I have just learned of that account today so I am trying to figure it out. I have a room only reservation. I just haven't read far enough to know how the money transfers to my reservation balance from the DVA. 32%? wow! That is great. I have been scrounging information for my August trip...I thought I was doing good until I heard that :)

$20 for every $1000 you use from your DVA, after it has been active for 120 days. (good thru 2017 up to $500 per household) You use the DVA just like a credit card and you can make deposits to it with Disney GC's which makes it easier than reading #'s over the phone to Disney! When you call to make a reservation or a payment you just give your DVA account # to pay.

What if we don't use credit cards? We went the Dave Ramsey route years ago and don't use credit at all. I'd be buying it all with my debit card.

And also- If Ebates gives you their cash back quarterly, it doesn't sound like I'll be getting any cash back from them in time for my trip in mid-june. Is this correct?
The next cash back is mid may. You would get it at the end of May (at least that is what my account does). The minimum check they send out is $5 though I believe...It should be easy to reach that. I received $4 in my account today just from 4 gift cards. I get the Dave Ramsey way. I sort of do it since I pay off my credit cards every month. I just charge everything to get the rewards. I have to be VERY disciplined.

This exactly. Also, even if you don't have an A.P. and get discounted tickets elsewhere (which is what we do) the gift cards are still accepted almost everywhere that is Disney-owned in the resort (except for places that don't take cards at all, like some of the snack carts) so you can still save a good bit on food, souvenirs, etc. using cards bought with a discount.

Thanks everybody for answering my questions! We aren't annual passholders (kinda hard living in Texas ;) ), so we wouldn't get those discounts, and I was looking at buying our Disneyland tickets through a third party vendor (a trusted one that I've researched well). But I may consider getting some gift cards for food and souvies in the park. Those can get pricey, and we live on a budget, so any money I can save is worth it.

Something to note about the DVA... you cannot use it to pay for room only reservations at Disneyland Resort. Only certain hotels at Disney World and Aulani. I find this very frustrating, as I have two room only reservations for DL and was hoping to use my DVA. :-(

Hmmm. I only get to DW and it looks like my hotel works. Only problem I don't have 120 left and I only have a balance left smaller than 1000 (gotta go cheap and stay at the value resorts)

It may not work for you this trip, but keep it in mind for the next. You could open it now, then next time you would already have your 120 days in.

The next cash back is for the first quarter (Jan - Mar) and will be paid mid-May. Current purchases would be paid during the next payout (July). However, I've never gotten ebates for Disney card purchases from Target. I always try, but it never has happened. It's awesome that some people do, though!

I signed up for a DVA account.

Yep, my error. I forgot the quarter ended already. ebates worked for me today on my Disney GC's I wonder why it works sometimes but not others. Do you pay with GC's or CC when you try it? It would be nice to figure out what makes it work and what makes it not. I paid with GC's

I have never gotten Ebates for GC at Target either...I keep trying..my clicks get documented but I never get the cashback. :(

That is weird. I never tried until I started paying with gift cards. Maybe that is what the difference is? I got it yesterday and today. It was loaded into my account really quickly too.

I've done all three - all gift cards (but with Redcard as the default), combo Redcard/giftcard and all Redcard. I get cash back for regular purchases, but haven't yet gotten any for gift cards.
