All is well with the 5% discount in store! I just bought disney gift cards in store this afternoon using only my target red card & received the discount no problems.
I can also confirm that the store discount still works. I bought a $50 card yesterday afternoon, and the guy said, "Come back and see us again." About 30 minutes later, after I had finished shopping and grabbing 9 more cards, I went back to him. He laughed and rang me up and said, "Come back again soon", and I replied, "we will, but not again today." LolAll is well with the 5% discount in store! You never could purchase the Disney gift cards in store using target gift cards and get the additional 5% off, that was only on their website and appears to have been a long-lasting glitch unless people start reporting it's working again. In stores the 5% off only applies if the disney gc is purchased using a Target Redcard (credit or debit) and that's how their system is supposed to work.Is it still working in store? I had just purchased some target gift cards from a discount site this morning to buy Disney gift cards so I was bummed to learn this this today. I got 5.5% off the Target cards through raise. It is still a better deal than in store. Plus I get 1% cash back on my visa and I am waiting to see if eBates 2% will apply. I guess it depends on how they have categorized the cards now.
Yep, I knew that. I just wondered if it was still working in the store so I could let a friend know. I still came out ahead in how I did it, just not as good as I did a couple weeks ago.You never could purchase the Disney gift cards in store using target gift cards and get the additional 5% off, that was only on their website and appears to have been a long-lasting glitch unless people start reporting it's working again. I just did it in store Sunday and didn't have any issues, 5% off with my redcard and I'm a happy camper, so you're friend should be good!Yep, I knew that. thanks! Since I got them hooked I didn't want to give them bad news. I am hoping I will get the 2% from ebates from my online order then the 5.5% from raise and 1% cash back on my credit card...It's still pretty good.I just did it in store Sunday and didn't have any issues, 5% off with my redcard and I'm a happy camper, so you're friend should be good!

The best I am figuring out is this:Okay, I'm completely new to this concept. I just learned about people using Disney gift cards to buy tickets and things in the parks the other day (I'm clearly WAY behind the times).
So, hypothetically speaking: If you buy a $100 gift card for Target on a place like Raise.com for $97 (or whatever the discount available is), you can then turn around and buy a couple of $50 Disney gift cards with your Target gift cards? Is it worth it though to only save $3?
Also, sorry for just jumping in, but I was searching the Disboards for this kind of information all day yesterday. Glad you guys were already discussing it!![]()
If you have a Target RedCard, you can save 5% in the store by purchasing the Disney cards and paying with your redcard. Until recently, you could buy discounted Target gift cards on sites like Raise, and buy Disney cards on the Target website using the Raise cards as payment with your RedCard as the backup payment. This would give you the benefit of the Raise savings, PLUS the Redcard savings. At this time, you cannot use your redcard to buy Disney cards at a discount on the Target website. So if you are going to use a site like raise.com, make sure you are purchasing cards at at least a 5% discount. Otherwise using your redcard in store would be a better savings, UNLESS you have other reward programs you are using in conjunction with raise.com.Okay, I'm completely new to this concept. Couple of other things:
1. Are you guys using these Disney cards to pay for Disney hotels, souvenirs, park tickets, what?
And
2. If you're using it to buy park tickets through Disneyland.com, does it really save you that much more than just purchasing your tickets through a Disney-trusted ticket seller?

(best with a rewards visa, or other card).
