I placed an order last night for a backpack DD wanted, and laundry detergent just because I needed it (a single container, not part of the gift card deal lots of folks are trying to work). It took awhile to work around all of the website issues, but eventually I got the order placed. I received the $10 off $40 the order, plus my redcard discount PLUS I had 2 pharmacy reward online coupons that I used.
So, not a fabulous ordering experience but I got the job done. But of course it couldn't have gone smoothly from there! I got a notice that the backpack was ready for pickup this morning, but the laundry detergent was out of stock. My options were to pick it up at a different store 15 miles from where the backpack was, cancel the item and lose the $10 because my order would now be below $40, or cancel both items and replace the order at the second store but then I would lose the 10% pharmacy rewards I had used because they were one-time use coupons
I chose what I felt the lesser of those 3 evils, and elected to pick up the laundry detergent up at the 2nd store. But when I did that, the lovely Target system decided I needed to pay extra sales tax - more than 1% more on the total order. The two stores are in the same city and county, same as my home address, and I KNOW they all have the exact same sales tax rate, so I'm not sure why the heck the system decided I suddenly had to pay extra.

At this point, that was the straw that broke the camel's back and I was FED UP with the whole fiasco and called customer service. 20 minutes on hold.

Oye. But at least the person I got understood the problem, cancelled the first order, placed the second order for me (because by now the system was erroring whenever you tried to locate a store again!), and manually gave me the extra 10% discount to recoup my lost pharmacy rewards. In all, it took me close to 25 minutes working with the agent to get it done (on top of the 20 minutes on hold).
Not a fun experience to say the least
