Target $10 gc with $50 purchase coupon

I just got back from Target and I was going to buy 3 $50 gift cards since I had 3 coupons which I printed from a link that was posted on here for fatwallet and had no issue using them--however after reading one of the past posts about coupons and copies I did notice when I printed them that the coupon was smaller then the ones I printed from Target email anyways they did scan--but when I got home I realized that I had bought 2 $50 and 1 $25 card and yet I got 3 $10 gift cards

even when the girl told me my total it didnt click that I wanted 3 $50

well it worked and I was trying to pull anything

I bought an ipad last night. Got the $50 off advertised, used the coupon, used a $10 off $100 coupon that the pharmacy gave me, got 5% off for my redcard and charged it to my Disney visa, getting 2% back on that.

My redcard quit working on Wednesday (I posted about this earlier). I thought it would be okay to use for the ipad purchase, but the charge wouldn't go through. DH was with me (Primary card holder), so we called while standing at the register. Redcard person said they were having some software issues, which is why the card was not going through. It was not a usage/spend limit issue. He talked to the team member and told him to give us 5% off since we couldn't use our redcard and we got to charge it to our visa.

I'm new to the whole Red Card discount thing. A few of you have mentioned combining the Red Card discount with using your Disney Rewards Visa- can you explain? I thought you had to use your Red Card to get the discount?

You cannot combine the two. In order to get the discount, you need to use the RedCard. It looks like one person above was able to only because the Target RedCard people (on the phone) authorized the discount because there was some software issue with the RedCard.

I was able to but a few GC's and get the $10 target gift card with each purchase (went to different registers as suggested). But I also had to pick up some gifts for teachers etc..I found Godiva box chocolates on sale for $12.99 each, but if you purchase 2 you got a $5 target gift card. So I bought 4 boxes, got 2 $5 gift cards and got my $10 gift card too - so $20 in GC's total those now go back towards the disney GC!

I got $200 in gift cards, but that's all I need for my upcoming trip. (I already had a few.) I wish this coupon was out when I was buying my $5000 in gift cards! Whoo, would I have saved a pretty penny!

Actually, there is a way to tell them apart even though the coupon number is not unique. A coupon that was printed using a .pdf copy of the original image will not be the same dimensions as the original. It might be just slightly wider or longer, which makes the bar code slightly different than the original. That's why some people's coupons are not scanning.

And while some methods of abusing the coupon are possible (making copies, using 4 at a time on some clueless cashier), that doesn't make it ethical. Nor should anyone be surprised if they get turned down when they attempt to do anything that violates the terms of use.

I do a lot of couponing throughout the year. It's abuses like what some are advocating here that give couponers a bad name.

If Target really didn't want people using pdfs they would have made the bar codes unique or something. Its not the first time they've run this deal so they know how it would work.

Someone could have printed out many copies of the coupon simply by having access to different computers. It doesn't seem fair to me if that person is allowed multiple coupons but someone else isn't because they don't have enough computers.

Now, I didn't use multiple coupons. I just didn't have much to buy at Target. I did print out pdf coupons for my mother, who's computer is broken and my cousin, who had no printer ink. I don't feel bad in the least.

You're using situational ethics to justify an unethical deed. Target could have, but didn't, generate unique bar codes for their coupons. That makes them the victim. Just like any other retailers who put out a coupon or code that is open for abuse. Anyone who knowingly violates the rules by making copies and using them, is lacking a moral compass. I used to tell my kids that just because you can get away with doing something wrong, that doesn't mean that it is okay to do it.

Thanks for the reminder - I was thinking it went for three weekends but I wasn't sure. I'm glad I was able to get a few $10 gift cards and save some $$ buying the Disney Gift cards so it's all good

Well I bought $2000 worth of gift cards. Thankfully our TA was nice enough not to grumble when I emailed her the almost 40 cards to pay off our cruise!
