Tarek and Christina seperate

They could still do the show. He buys and demolishes and fixes up. She plans the design. Really wouldn't have to see each other at all. Would get them through the contract of the show season.

I think the question is how much collaboration do they really do on these projects? The show makes it look like it's a joint decision which house to actually buy and how much they pay. Then Christina does the design and has to convince Tarek it's worth it to spend the $$ (he always gives in), and he seems to do most of the supervision of the work. Then they both work on the sale end. If that work can be split up more (and maybe it is in real life), they might be able to pull it off. Otherwise you're talking about not only splitting up the show but their business as well. That could be quite damaging financially....

Even when Christina isn't doing the voice over speaking she sounds like she is. She always seemed so fake to me. Tarek came across as insecure, I always wondered why he pulls on the bottom of his shirt.

I like the show and I also follow her on IG. She likes to take her daughter to Disneyland a lot. It'll be weird watching knowing they're separated now.

The whole show is scripted. The one where their car was "stolen" and the "thief" drove away slower then a snail... all fake. I watch for design ideas. I don't care for either one of them

Locally we have a radio duo Polly Gillespie and Grant Kareama, they were married for about 30 years, 3 kids and hit radio show they worked on together, earlier this year (maybe late last year) they separated. They have managed to continue on air together even after starting new relationships discussing those on air with each other.
I was sad to hear they had split, and it does seem to me that if people can get on so well they could surely work it through but I'm sure they didn't make this decision lightly and have managed to be good friends or at least coworkers

I had no idea who they were but heard about the split recently on TMZ. All I have to say is she is one damn fine looking woman, sweet Jesus.

I didn't think it was compulsory to watch it.
Hoping they fail seems overly dramatic but then, this is the DIS.
We enjoyed it, like many of the programmes on HGTV.

ford family

I always enjoyed watching the show. When nothing is on tv I tend to put on HGTV. I know that these shows can be fake but I do like seeing what these run down houses can turn into.

Is there anyone from the Boston area here? If so, remember Chet Curtis and Natalie Jacobson(channel 5, I think)? Newscasters. Didn't they get divorced about 30 years ago, but continued to do the news together?

What I want to know is why did he have 5 guns in the house? Including an assault rifle? That seems a bit over the top. I'm sure they live in a lovely gated community.

Cannot stand this couple. Maybe the show will finally tank.

These type of shows are put on because they have extremely low production costs. They're almost tank proof because they don't need huge ratings to pay for themselves.

I think Flip or Flop got 13.5 million in a season. In contrast the Superbowl got over 112 million just for it.

Aren't all of these shows fake and staged?

Sure, but IMO, most of them do a better job of not seeming as fake. I was honestly surprised when I realized they were married, that was not the vibe I got at all. I also found them too annoying to be enjoyable though.

When I watch Chip and JoJo, whether is real or not, there appears to be chemistry and affection. I hate to say this, but for Flip or Flop it came off more of a guy who "made it" and his trophy wife.
