Tapestry of Dreams--is it returning?

I'll be interested to hear where the rumor came from. I mean ... not to disappoint anyone or anything, but the "larger than life puppets" have all been shipped over to one of the Disney office buildings and are currently being used as decorative elements, hanging from the ceiling! I'm sure that some kind of parade of some sort for Epcot is on a drawing board somewhere, but it just doesn't seem likely that TON / TOD will be returning. At least not in that same format.

:earsboy:

Thanks for the info, but what a disappointment to read.

If the costumes/puppets are currently being used, I think it's safe to say the parade won't be making a come back any time soon then. Bummer. :(

2006 is Epcot's 25th anniversary, so it only seems logical that they should bring back some sort of parade. We are planning a trip for Oct of 2006 and really hope they have something because Epcot is our favorite park!!

If they brought TOD back our family would make a special trip just to see it. We really miss that parade.

I know that they are working toward a parade for 2006 but not sure exactly what. They definetly want to do something for Epcot's anniversary.

YAY! We are hoping to go back in'06...a new parade would be great...and would love visiting during an Epcot 25th anniv. year!

Instead of the parade, I would greatly prefer a water-type show or parade during the day. There would be plenty of spaces for people to view from around the world showcase and it wouldn't block the walkways completely like the parade did. They have something like that at Disney Seas in Tokyo. It has jetskis, character floats and music and I think it would fit in great at Epcot.

I agree- I loved this parade, and I don't like most of them. The music and the costumes were great. I'd be happy to see it return although it makes WS more congested around that time.

Also in the minority...We didn't enjoy it, and the kids fell asleep. We're planning to go early '06, so I'd love to see a new parade at EPCOT!

My entire family (dd then 3 & 7, us, my parents) loved the parade. Liked it better without the ToD narration.

Even if the costumes were in storage, they'd have to remake them. I heard they weren't designed to last as long as they did, and they were wearing the last time I saw the parade.

It does create a bit of a traffic issue, but I think now even more then then ToN should return. Whatever it is, it is the same to all people - which was the point!

I hope it's true and TOD comes back one day. This is the only parade in WDW I will watch. It was Dh's favorite thing in all of WDW.

my favorite. . . . my daughter loved this parade and shaking hands with the pupppets----I would make a special trip!!!

We loved that one! I still miss it - I think the appeal for us was the music. I had to buy it on CD :teeth:

Yes, a big part of why we loved this parade was the music, and the cool drummer floats!

We still listen to the cd on our way to Disney as part of our official "get in the mood" music!

We were there for opening day of Epcot way back in 1981 - can't wait to see what they do for their anniversary!!!

This was my favorite parade. I too listen to the music from it all the time. It gets me in a Disney mood. The drawback is that it makes me want to be back there even more.lol

As a WDW entertainment CM, I can tell you that I have heard nothing about this. I'd really be surprised if it were true, honestly. I really liked Tapestry myself.

I also heard that Disney is working on a new parade for Epcot for their 25th. The CM on our Illuminations cruise in January was saying that. Unfortunately, he said, TOD is no more since it was deemed too expensive for Disney to maintain. Apparently those puppet costumes didn't hold up well-wind, sun, etc. didn't do good things and the costumes had to be replaced/repaired a lot.
AngieBelle, a WDW Entertainment CM-my DS's dream job! He's a Summer Entertainment Intern (musician) in Disneyland and loving it, but WDW would be the ultimate! Please PM me if there's any openings for musicians at WDW!

Would love to get a CD of the music-anyone provide details?
