At home, I usually just mix our tap water from our fridge water machine with ds' formula. Has anyone used the tap water at WDW? Is it safe to do so? I would rather avoid buying bottled water if I could.

Did you taste the tap water on your previous trips???? It's AWFUL!!! Personally, I wouldn't use it. (I never used tap water at home for bottles either so if you baby is used to tap...maybe it would be so bad). I would order a case of water to be delivered to your hotel room. Keep it room temp and then you won't even need to heat the bottles up.

BTW, you can order a case of water from Costco (even if you aren't a member) for $7. Then you would have bottles of water to enjoy as well w/o having to pay Disney prices.

thanks - can you tell me how to do that? and no, I've never tasted the tap water - not much of a water drinker, I'm embarassed to admit.

How to order the water? Here is the link.
http://www.costco.com/Browse/Produc...=0&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Nty=1&topnav=&s=1.

Click Add to cart and then pay (you do have to register on the site but again, don't need a membership). Order it about 3 days before your trip and it will be waiting for you. You just put your name and the hotel's name/address as the shipping location. If there is a memo section, you can put your arrival date on that.

Funny how opinions vary, I drink the tap water (but I only like it COLD--I am like that at home too) and I never bothered with buying water for my baby bottles. You never know what is in bottled water-could be much worse than your own city or well. :) I would think formula would be like adding those kool- aid packets--helps cover up any unfamilar taste that may or may not be in the water.

That said, bottled is convenient to grab & take with you to the parks, etc.

So, IMHO I woudln't worry about it. If you want the convenience of bottled water-go for it, but otherwise just use the tap.

I don't know about your kids, but mine are real sensitive to different water. Even though the water is safe to drink it can upset their tummies. I guess it's the difference in mineral content. I think I'd use bottled water just so the local water wouldn't set them off (but that's just me.)

I know its been a few years since my youngest was on formula, but they used to sell that baby water. They sold them in 8 and 4 ounce bottles, so it was easy to throw a few in your bag with the powder formula and mix and there you go. Once the powder formula came along it made bottles a breeze when you are on the go!!:wizard:

The tap water in Florida is definately different. You can even taste it in the fountain sodas since it is made with the water as well. My son had stomach issues on our first two days in Florida last year. He was 7 on that trip. I'd buy the bottled water.

I'm not an expert, but I believe it's recommended that you boil tap water before making formula with it until the child is a certain age.

Yes, I always did until my babies were 6 months old, then I started buying the baby water and didn't have to do it.
